Earlier, @Hon_Ssebugwawo launched the E-Waste Sensitization, Cleaning, Collection, Reuse and Responsible Disposal Campaign, which will be held every last Friday of the month in line with the National Cleaning Day.
The campaign aims to promote responsible e-waste management and digital action for a cleaner environment.
“Today’s exercise focuses on an area directly connected to our work: the responsible management of electronic waste,” said PS Dr. @azawedde.
“Old phones, computers, printers, chargers, cables, batteries, routers and other electronic equipment cannot simply be treated as ordinary waste. Some electronic components can harm people and the environment if handled poorly, openly burned or dumped.
“We therefore need to change how we think about electronic waste,” said Hon. Ssebugwawo as she launched the campaign.

This was the key message from the Minister of ICT and National Guidance (@MoICT_Ug), Rt. Hon. @JustineLumumba, as she officially opened the 10th National Conference on Communications (#NCC2026) at @Makerere
The Minister called for research and responsible innovation that address both the opportunities and risks of digital technologies, including cybercrime, online abuse and child exploitation.
She further emphasized the role of research, technology and innovation in driving economic transformation, improving public service delivery and advancing Uganda’s development priorities.

Speaking today at the Season 4 orientation of the Ultimate University Quiz at Kyambogo University and Uganda Christian University, @UCC_Official Manager Public and International Relations, Mr. James Tumusiime, challenged students to see participation as a victory in itself.
He reminded students that the Quiz offers more than the chance to emerge number one. It builds confidence, critical thinking, communication and teamwork, while exposing participants to public affairs and current issues beyond the classroom.
He also encouraged students to use communication responsibly: think before you post, verify before you share, protect your accounts and remember that your digital footprint can follow you long after university.
