This is an outrage. I will do everything in my power to prevent Morgan McSweeney from being elevated to the House of Lords. I believe there is simply no way he can be considered a fit and proper person, having broken the law for years, and I will place all the evidence at my disposal (including the very substantial new disclosures made to me by Labour Together and other parties) before the House of Lords Appointment Commission. It is now incontrovertible that McSweeney was aware of his legal duties to report donations as required by law to the Electoral Commission while company secretary of Labour Together - but that he failed to do so for two years. I believe that there is compelling evidence that McSweeney chose not to report donations in violation of the law, and that he used these undisclosed donations to procure political power for himself, his allies, fellow directors of Labour Together and Sir Keir Starmer. I have now received disclosures showing incontrovertibly that McSweeney was consulted on and received a copy of the despicable, defamatory APCO Worldwide report that targeted me, my family my colleagues and other journalists because I was revealing McSweeney's history of unlawful conduct and how his unlawful conduct benefited Sir Keir Starmer. I have also received, in the last weeks, confirmation that APCO's disgraceful report on me and others was sent to the Cabinet Office. The Cabinet Office, in plain violation of my rights under data protection laws, is now refusing to reveal precisely how it was transmitted, to who, when and for what reason. This is a patent cover-up by the Cabinet Office. It is utterly inappropriate that the man who helped make Mandelson the ambassador to the US, after engaging in years of dishonesty and unlawful conduct on his own account, should be given a lifetime sinecure deciding our laws. Although it will challenge constitutional convention, Burnham should refuse McSweeney's appointment. At the very least he must refer it to the Appointment Commission. Could there be a more fitting, disgraceful denouement to Starmerism? And will Burnham have the backbone to do the decent thing? Or will he allow his administration to be tainted by the sins of his predecessor?
Sunday Times reports that Keir Starmer now plans to issue a resignation list after all - despite previously saying he wouldn't. Names mooted in the paper are Hollie Ridley, Morgan McSweeney and Vidhya Alakeson.

The Parliamentary Labour Party is still in the denial stage regarding its forthcoming liquidation. The irony is that because McSweeney and Starmer set it up to be impervious to democratic challenge it cannot process the feedback on even existential danger. theguardian.com/politics/202…

He wrote this for THE DAILY MAIL. The newspaper is a racist cesspit which has spent decades whipping up hatred against minorities. The absolute front of these people!
The vile racists I witnessed in Corbyn’s Labour are now in the Greens. Polanski has to get a grip.

Resurrecting Tony Blair from the political dead would be political suicide for the Starmer Govt. Particularly after the resurrection & fall of Mandelson. It would confirm the dearth of ideas & strategy in the Starmer Govt & how beholden it is to New Labour.

If only there was some sort of club we could join that would make this stuff easier for all products across the whole of Europe. 🤯
Once finalised, our new 🇬🇧🇪🇺 food and drink deal will make it easier for British shoppers to buy Spanish produce and reduce the barriers to great UK companies selling in Spain and the rest of Europe.

Believe it’s a coincidence if you will, but these are also Russia's prime targets because they are Ukraine's staunchest allies. Trump attacking them is yet another Kremlin dream made reality. I believe in coincidences, but I also believe in the KGB.
One of the most bizarre features of Trump's drunk-drive diplomacy is that its main targets have tended to be America's *best* NATO allies in Europe: Poland, Denmark, the UK, Estonia - the countries that spend the most on their military, were part of the coalition of the willing that went to Iraq, sent their troops on the most dangerous missions in Afghanistan, etc. Meanwhile, some of the countries that still free-ride the most are completely left out of his crosshairs. And their leaders include both loyal Trump-boosters such as Italy's Meloni, and outspoken Trump-critics such as Spain's Pedro Sanchez. The only discernible pattern seems to be: the more your country has stood by the US on the last 20 years, the worse you'll be treated by Trump.

It doesn’t stop at Mandelson. The Mandelson model of pay-to-play influence peddling is at the heart of Keir Starmer’s government, busy giving away the NHS to the likes of Palantir. The reason the Labour Right fought so hard is because they wanted their turn at the public trough.
Selling influence on policy—what used to be called corruption. “It is possible to mold, have your fingerprints on what we’re doing,” Starmer told a roundtable of big business reps, as reported in @politico. politico.eu/article/keir-sta…

"This is what healthcare in Gaza has become: Not medicine. Not dignity. But risk management under siege."
Today, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) @MSF announced that it will refuse to provide the names of its staff to the Israeli authorities, a condition imposed to renew its operating license in Gaza. Many people outside Gaza rushed to celebrate this as a “victory,” a “brave stance,” and a symbolic act of resistance. But here, on the ground, we do not live on symbols. We live on consequences. Let us speak plainly, and without slogans. If MSF’s operations are suspended or restricted, this will not be a political loss. It will be a human catastrophe. It means: • Roughly 20% of hospital capacity in Gaza could disappear overnight, one out of every five hospital beds gone. • One in three pregnant women may lose access to medical support during childbirth, in a setting where maternal and neonatal risks are already extreme. • Over 635,000 people could lose daily access to clean water, as MSF currently provides approximately 4.5 million liters of water per day. • Tens of thousands of patients, including children, trauma victims, and people with chronic diseases, may lose essential medical care. • Critical mental health programs may collapse, in a society suffering from mass trauma, despair, and psychological breakdown. This is happening in a territory where: • Over 70% of the population is displaced • Thousands live in unsafe, collapsing tents • The health system is already exhausted and partially paralyzed • Respiratory disease, malnutrition, and epidemics are rising • Children are growing up without stability, education, or hope And yet, people far from this reality, sitting in safe homes, in distant countries, are applauding this decision as if it were a moral triumph. It is easy to celebrate “principles” when you are not the one who will bleed for them. But in Gaza, the price will be paid in hospital closures, untreated infections, complicated births, dehydrated children, and preventable deaths. This is not a theoretical debate. This is not activism. This is survival. *A Personal Note* My own clinic operates in partnership with MSF. I was informed that my name, along with others, may be placed on internal lists “for protection,” so we are not targeted or harmed. Let that sink in. We are now living in a reality where medical workers fear being attacked, where our names must be documented for safety, and where providing healthcare requires navigating political threats instead of focusing on saving lives. This is what healthcare in Gaza has become: Not medicine. Not dignity. But risk management under siege. If MSF’s priority is public statements, reports, and political confrontation, then this decision aligns with that mission. But if the true mission is to save lives in one of the worst humanitarian disasters on Earth, then this decision risks becoming another burden on a population that has already been crushed beyond endurance. Once again: Those far away will celebrate. And those trapped here will pay, with their health, their futures, and their lives. This is not resistance. This is not victory. This is the slow suffocation of a wounded people. #WoundedGaza #msf
