Keep in mind that Meta had enough information (and certainly the resources) before this to *proactively* make these changes for kids on its apps and it chose not to.

Great time to buy refurbished or used. At least until sellers start jacking up those prices too!

I was just in a room full of national security officials and several complained about how contractors are destroying our military with right to repair restrictions. Pass this amendment.

The American Legion sends a letter to both House and Senate Armed Services Committee leadership urging Congress to include the Warrior Right to Repair Act in the fiscal 2027 NDAA, supporting fair access to the technical data and materials needed for the military to maintain and repair its own equipment.

Had a fun convo w/ @cyberguy about AI companies letting 3rd parties use their models-that aren’t for kids-in kids’ products, & not vetting the people doing it.
If you've got kids in your life (or just find this stuff as wild as I do), this one is fun:

Big TY @azcentral for publishing op-ed by @ArizonaPIRG Education Fund's executive director. "If you are a consumer who has an electric, gas and water utility regulated by the commission, this means you could be faced with a triple blow to your budget annually for five years...".
Opinion: Approved formula-based utility rates could mean higher bills for consumers more often than in the past, benefitting the companies, not you. azcentral.com/story/opinion/…

John Deere has made a lot of promises regarding Right to Repair over the years ... we recently updated our timeline of the major milestones over the last decade or so:

At the heart of security is control. The now-infamous Ring ad made clear that when you don't control your security camera's video, you aren't fully secure.
We just dropped our latest bounty that seeks to put that control back into owners' rightful hands.

Very important news out of Maine: the Senate refused the auto manufacturers craven attempt to overturn the voters Right to Repair ballot initiative. Maine's telematics Right to Repair law should be clear to go into effect now!
Napster-era copyright laws gave modern manufacturers license to stifle repairs. Read the full article by Right to Repair Associate Julius Shieh: pirg.org/articles/90s-kids-p…

I had a great conversation with Nick about the, yes, infuriating ways that defense contractors lock our military out of repairing its equipment.
Come for the #RightToRepair, stay for my reliving of working next to the flight line on a Naval base.
Happy New Year and welcome to Season 6 of Moment of Truth. We’re kicking it off with a topic that fills me with incredible fury: the fight over Right to Repair. If you’ve ever tried to work on your own car and found yourself locked out by software or unable to twist a trademarked bespoke screw, this wonky issue has made your life worse.
And defense contractors are making trillions off of doing it to our military. Thank you to @kevin_oreilly7 for doing such great work on this important issue and for coming on our show to get me (and hopefully all of you!) fired up about it.

What if I told you I’m not allowed to repair the drones in my unit due to licensing/contractual issues?
It’s pretty controversial that I believe we should be allowed to fix our kit if necessary.

Great piece by @BooneAshworth today on our bounty program at @FuluFoundation. It’s crazy that when a company shuts down your app access for using a third-party part, the illegal thing is modifying that app to make it work again. wired.com/story/fulu-repair-…

Paul Wieland just wanted to use his garage door on his own terms. What he ran into was a much bigger fight — a monopoly on repair and use, as companies use software, servers, and subscriptions to change how products work after purchase.
“They want people to pay for using zeros and ones,” explains @nProctor.
Ownership should mean real use and autonomy, not conditional access. That’s why the #RightToRepair fight matters. nytimes.com/2025/12/04/techn…
