Right to Repair -- the campaign to let you fix your stuff -- is off to the races in state capitols once again.
Turns out that people do want to fix there stuff, no matter where they live. Here's a quick 🧵 to give you a rundown:
We have a society where if you really want to lose touch with the world outside your head, you have a LOT of opportunities ... and you can still have a prominent role in impacting the lives of others (who actually do exist, btw!)
Unpopular opinion; No one - literally not a soul - actually enjoys the taste of beer. Not a single human. Those who claim to enjoy beer, don’t actually. It’s really just a social ritual, a form of self deception… the impact of decades of stacked marketing to convince you that beer is anything but an alcohol delivery mechanism. You can enjoy getting sloshed. You can enjoy the social liberation that alcohol offers. You can enjoy the party. But don’t act like you actually like the taste of beer. You don’t. You might think you do. But you don’t. Because it tastes like it looks: bitter dehydrated piss, with bubbles. In the case of Guinness, like diarrhea, with bubbles. And you know it.
We live in such a weird time. On one hand incredible gains on some of the most important possible problems (like children living!) On the other, we have huge problems that we could solve if we wanted to, but don't because of greed and squabbling etc
This was a fun collaboration -- check out this new video explainer on Right to Repair and why it's important by EcoBits youtube.com/watch?v=IrZ0IXnY…
and shoutout @LG_Rocket -- whose middle name is quite literally Rockett -- for his work to establish our case on space reform and his organizing in this space.
Here's my latest video on why I'm deeply troubled by the FCC's plan to endorse ignorance as a strategy for bliss:
As we watch tech companies continually move fast, and break (important) things, from hooking kids on doom-scrolling to deploying AI agents with hacking tools and no guardrails (IE Hugging Face), to all the problems of data centers -- it's clear we need to hold tech accountable.
The FCC just announced that they are rejecting all the expert advice they received about the need for a little more caution about the potential risks associated with the exponential increase of satellite usage.
One of the things that is hard as an advocate is that I wish I could work on more issues -- we have a lot of problems!
Especially when it comes to tech.
Well this is a new reason to support Right to Repair "I believe Catholics should support Right to Repair legislation because it advances subsidiarity, a concept at the heart of Catholic Social Teaching."
Jump right on in, my friends. Room in the repair bus for everyone

Go do something that doesn't compute.
Be like the fox
who makes more tracks than necessary, some in the wrong direction.
Practice resurrection.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn’t go.
Go with your love to the fields.
Lie down in the shade. Rest your head
in her lap. Swear allegiance
to what is nighest your thoughts.
Ask yourself: Will this satisfy
a woman satisfied to bear a child?
Will this disturb the sleep
of a woman near to giving birth?
Expect the end of the world. Laugh.
Laughter is immeasurable. Be joyful
though you have considered all the facts.
So long as women do not go cheap
for power, please women more than men.
Put your faith in the two inches of humus
that will build under the trees
every thousand years.
Listen to carrion – put your ear
close, and hear the faint chattering
of the songs that are to come.
