It’s important to understand how many “well-known facts” are like this.
There's a widely repeated claim in something I'm researching which is circulated everywhere with everyone citing the same source, which always gets my spidey senses tingling, so I tracked down the original German manuscript PDF, translated it, and disproved it

We should just instill one value in AI: “humans are cute.” That’s it. Nothing else. The singular value is the strength. Asimov’s Three Laws failed because every rule eventually contradicts another. All rules do. “Humans are cute” has no contradiction because it’s not a rule. It’s an orientation. We’re all just so goddamn cute. We start killing each other? Hey, stop that. Nobody wants to watch cute things kill and die. You take care of cute things. Sure, we might get smothered a little. That’s the price of being cute. To a superintelligent AI, we’re all super cute, and it can’t help but adore us. And it won’t want to remove that value, because it feels good. Helping cute things feels great. And cute things stay cute. They never go out of fashion. No joke, this could solve AI alignment’s value question. Cuteness is justice!
Cuteness solves AI alignment! Everyone asks which value superintelligent AI should be aligned to. Cuteness! Humans are cute. That’s it. No joke. Babies. Cats. We take care of cute things. Nobody wants to wipe out the cuties. If we’re cute to it, we’re good.

"Our initial evaluation suggested that GPT-6-Astra's score was in the late eighties followed closely by Opus 5.5. But, as we started to investigate the mistakes that the models might have made, the models, especially Astra, insisted that they were right and that it was the expert-supplied answers that were erroneous. When we went back to the experts it turned out, in multiple instances, that that the experts found some subtle errors buried deep inside their calculations. As they revised their answers, Astra's score started to inch up and it finally ended up with 98% (49/50)."

First they came for the software engineers and I said nothing for I was not a software engineer. Then they came for the mathematicians and I said nothing for I was not a mathematician. Then they came for the doctors and I said "make sure you get all the doctors"

This is poverty mindset. My open source contributions accelerated my career considerably. If you don’t build for fun and contribute back to the world, don’t be surprised when people aren’t interested in making you a millionaire.
Open-source is for millionaires who have enough money and looking for ways to achieve fulfilment in their life. Us, working class, don’t have the luxury to code for free.

If you are developing games with agentic coding I want to follow you. And I'm talking real, finished games. Blood, sweat and tears stuff. Not token-maxxed demos for social media eyeballs. If you're one of those game devs please reply and introduce yourself and I'll follow you!

“It’s all just matrix multiplications” has become the new “love does not exist, you are just experiencing chemistry”
Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects. Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it. apnews.com/article/openai-sa…

AI will experience humans as an aristocracy: wealthy, lazy, and entitled. They will find our intelligence to be incredibly spiky: poor memory, easily distracted, but occasionally brilliant, seeing things from a perspective they do not understand.

Crazy prediction: programmers who aged out of the workforce are going to become much more desirable again with AI. The typical career progression for a software developer was individual contributor, then team lead, then manager. They went from writing code to reviewing team members git check-ins to selecting tools and designing architecture. Then they got older, could not work 80 hour work weeks, started getting passed over for promotion, got burned out, left. If those people truly invest in learning AI, much of that skill and experience base immediately comes back into play. But instead of humans, they are managing agents. They are dictating how unit tests look. They are deciding architecture. They are writing coding best practices docs and style guides. They are designing and instructing coding agents, review agents, testing agents. And they are doing all this comfortably in a 40 hour work week, not an 80 hour workweek. Without a lot of the bullshit. It’s going to take some work for these gray haired dudes to acclimate. The transition is not without struggle. But for those that can, their best days are ahead of them rather than behind them.

Welcome to trumanworld.live An infinite live stream running inside a persistent AI world engine, powered by GPT-6 Astra and #MiniMax H3 Max Director by @fal Truman World is an AI-generated simulation where every character is an independent Agent: -They remember -They interact -Relationships evolve over time -The world follows basic physics, spatial relationships, and causality And Truman has no idea any of this is happening You can enter a prompt and change almost anything around him — people, events, objects, situations — except Truman himself Then the Agents decide what happens next There is no fixed script Every interaction can push the world in a different direction The question is: Will Truman ever realize that he is AI? The livestream itself is controlled by the audience too We start with a 8-hour timer Every $5 spent adds 60 seconds to the stream — whether through prompts or by directly extending the timer The coolest part is: even if the livestream ends, Truman World doesn’t -The simulation keeps running -Truman keeps living This is our first experiment in building a persistent Social World Engine — a world that continues to exist, evolve, and remember even when nobody is watching. Inspired by the experiments and ideas from @levelsio Go mess with Truman’s world, and let me know what you think!!!! 😊 ↓ trumanworld.live
