Was Stanwick Hillfort the site of a heroic last stand against the Romans?
Or the Royal fortress of the most powerful Celtic Queen in Britain?

People say that regional accents are disappearing, which is true to some extent, but I've also noticed a shift towards emphasising regionalism, perhaps as a result of broader national identities collapsing. The Scouse accent is thicker now than it ever was, and I've noticed some people stressing their accent more for comic effect. I sometimes deliberately emphasise my way of speaking because my idiolect is an important part of who I am, and differentiates me from everyone else. So as society progressively coagulates into the same bland beige, I think people are emphasising the parts of themselves which make them unique.
I remake old videos when I know I can do it a lot better this time round, so it really annoys me when I see podcasts just re-uploading old episodes with the title "classic". It makes you think there's a new episode, but no! Just an old one you've already heard. Maybe they think people are so stupid they couldn't possibly scroll back through episodes?
so sex & the city totally ripped off this theme music, right?

Don Draper’s always saying stuff like “people don’t buy bombs because they blow up. They buy them because they like feeling exploded”
Jeremy Brett is my ride-or-die Sherlock, but I was pleasantly surprised by RDJ's performance. Sherlock shouldn't be too dry and cerebral; there is a touch of madness and mania about him which Brett and RDJ capture well
