I’ve heard so much about Malazan Book of The Fallen so today, I’m starting Book #1: Gardens of the Moon. Let’s see how much I enjoy this ride.
Bruh. If I had any sense of self preservation, I should have stopped at Morning Star. Wetin Pierce Brown don use my eye see with the Iron Gold tetralogy ehn! I have felt every single emotion while reading them. I am just waiting for Red God so I can rest finally.
Alright. Seeing how much I love Red Rising series (I have text from the series tattooed on my chest), I’m going to bite and read the other two soon.

PRESS RELEASE
LAGOS DSVA RELEASES DIRECTORY OF GBV STATE COORDINATORS IN NIGERIA
The Lagos State Government, through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), has released a directory of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) State Coordinators across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The directory is an outcome of continued efforts to strengthen national coordination and collaboration among GBV response stakeholders, following the landmark two-day National Convening of GBV State Coordinators hosted by Lagos State, with support from the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC II) Programme @rolacng, funded by the European Union @EUinNigeria and implemented by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IIDEA) @IntIDEA_NG.
The directory provides key contact details of GBV State Coordinators, serving as a practical resource to support reporting, referrals, and access to appropriate response services for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.
It is designed to strengthen coordination and referral pathways among stakeholders working in GBV prevention and response, while making it easier for citizens to identify and connect with the appropriate state-level contacts.
The Lagos State Government encourages individuals, organisations, government institutions, civil society organisations, community groups, and other stakeholders to make use of the directory and share it widely within their networks.
DSVA remains committed to strengthening collaboration, supporting coordinated GBV response, and improving access to timely and appropriate services for survivors across Nigeria.

You know what? Fairs.
When Portable, the great poet and orator, said that he is a Baboon and he lives in the zoo, he was making poignant commentary on the dystopian hellscape that we call a nation and how most people are by economic factors trapped here against their will to pursue existences akin to that of livestock or fauna on display.
This does not apply to me, a woman who has worked her ass off to build a good life without relying on a romantic partner, while also connecting both men and women to opportunities that they were thankful for.
The point is not about people not working hard to attain greatness or become people of value.
The point is that, across board, people attach having money to the idea of “manhood”, and as such promote the exploitation of romantic relationships for monetary gains. Men are out there trying to use money to woe women. Women are out there acting like a man’s money should be theirs for the taking even when they have money of their own.
It’s sexism on both ends, not an issue of value.
As an Aside,
To understand the world better, weigh both genders perspective on issues as this. What is the link between a broke woman and a well to do partner?
What is the aversion for a broke man and finding acceptance from a woman that is neither independent nor semi independent.
These are the issues. What we fail to address is how much self dependence can shape relationships and marriages faster than the over reliance over another person to guage support.
No one anywhere is obligated to help you and your gender should not emotionally blackmail anyone into doing it. Go out there and work hard and become a person of value so that people can come for you.
The calibre of people our societies have at the moment is neither ready made or struggling to get to the summit of greatness. Some of the broke women see themselves as the trophies for tommorow men whom through sweat and blood earned their bread. They basically just want to eat without adding any value to the other person's life and tag it relationship.
Many even weaponize sex that is enjoyable between both parties as a valuable tool of demanding compliance to resolve their wants and not their needs.
Till men and women see themselves as people of value and not one gender turning themselves into a commodity for a recurrent fee, we will continue to have a society that broke shames struggling men and uplifts women with no value or substance.
Peace and love.
Anyone can introduce anyone to financial opportunities. They don’t have to be romantically interested in a woman to point her in the direction of work. Male friends and siblings, female friends and siblings and even work colleagues and bosses of different genders exist. Why is your mind so one tracked that it can only conceive of opportunities that come from romantic or sexual interests?
I don’t have time to dance around words on social media. That’s reserved for my essays and books. My readers have a better appreciation for all that effort and word play.
So don’t bring that“women say ‘people’ instead of ‘women’ when calling out bad behaviour in other women” talk to my mentions. When I use ‘people’, I actually mean ‘people’ as in members of the human species of diverse genders.
Don’t attempt to derail a conversation on my post with that silliness.
I’m badly craving Ekpang Nkukwo and I can barely wait till when next I am in Calabar. Actually let me make a long list of all the things I want to eat when I finally reach my mother’s house. It’s been a long year, and first chance I get, I am going home.

If you make fake drinks, fake medicine, fake toothpaste and fake of anything that goes into the body or on the body, you should be classified as a TERRORIST. You are mass killing innocent people.
Since I was 16 till now, the number of times I have complained about having money issues and people have asked if I don’t have a partner or if there are no men interested in me is crazy. Few people have offered career advice or opportunities. It’s appalling.
As a society, we need to stop pushing this idea that women should rely on romantic or sexual partners for financial support. Introduce women to opportunities instead, teach them financial management and ways to gain financial independence.
There’s also the issue of using how much men are willing to spend on a woman as a measure of desirability, and assuming that any woman who doesn’t have a man throwing money at her isn’t valuable or beautiful enough. It’s a commodification of personhood that is so disgusting.
Oh it’s foolish tribalism, because Igbo people are big on greeting and helping older people get things done.
I don’t know the element that started this foolish talk that Igbo people don’t greet elders. Where I’m from it’s a whole issue if you don’t do the three-step call and response greeting for an older person, and I’m very certain Ngwa people are Igbo people.
Replying to @ShyJoanie
While scolding her he said in Yoruba “how will you see your chiefs in the morning and not greet them, when it’s not that you’re Igbo? I even thought you were Igbo when you first resumed until I heard you speak Yoruba to a patient, so why don’t you have respect for your elders?”

I am not a “I support women’s rights and wrongs”, I will not use these pop slogans as the foundation of my political praxis. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. Not only are some of you wrong, but you are also mad! Fin!

Which is fine to be pissed off. (2) See doesn’t know this for sure but deduced this (3) okay let’s even assume this is what they were laughing at, so him and his friends laughing warrants all this including messaging his workplace, doing 4-part series and stalking his family. People can be assholes and it doesn’t have to be a matter of national concern.
