Excited to share that my thesis work in now published! @Nature @bu_cte We investigated the earliest responses following repeated head trauma in athletes and found significant neuronal loss, microglial inflammation, and vascular damage. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

*opens dissertation, find and replace “subconcussive” ➡️ “nonconcussive” * Important editorial by @ChrisNowinski1 and @DanDaneshvar helping us reshape our language regarding head impacts in the absence of concussion. @bu_cte
Many hits that don't cause concussions are harder than the hits that do We should be calling these hits "nonconcussive" "Subconcussive" makes them sound smaller. They're not

Across the cell types discussed we see significant changes in RHI-exposed individuals regardless of CTE status, suggesting cellular changes begin long before disease onset. There is lots more that I can’t get to here so please feel free to reach out to me with questions! 13/n

Proud to have represented @bu_cte with @SamCalderazzo at last year’s NSAS course, one of the richest science experiences I’ve had the chance to attend. Big thanks to @soyonhonglab for organizing and all the fantastic speakers!
