Spending habits change over time, so the CPI weightings updated every 10 years to keep up. The First year of joe's term, BLS went to 2-year changes, this year, they went to 1. People still use the old formulas for comparison. The original inflation formula has us over 17%.

So @apoorva_nyc NYT writes that the fatality rate for COVID-19 is 3%. This is false. Using the massive CDC Case Surveillance File of 87 million logged infections the CFR for the entire pandemic is 1% and Sept 2022 was 0.13%. Even for 80+ it's 1.1% ! And that's the CFR!

You know me Rev. I don’t play partisan. That’s the point. But let’s make a list. Who has hurt MN? I am going to start. The single greatest detriment to this entire state, IMO is @denisespecht. Now some say she’s not a politician - not a D or an R bc schools non partisan.Thoughts?

if you don't read ZeroHedge posts, you should. Best place to get a perspective on what the data really says. And the data says that the BLS establishment survey showing jobs growth is being cooked. See here. zerohedge.com/markets/someth…

Have we reached the ultimate stage of absurdity where some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, while other people are not held responsible for what they themselves are doing today?

Ok let me help you all out. Here are the choices. 1 Guy turned parts of the state into a criminal fairground. And the other guy wants to control your body. And only govern half the state. For all you so called undecided voters.

Also, liberals seem to be trying to claim both that student loan relief is analogous to PPP and that PPP is bad, which would imply that student loan relief is also bad.

The president has no general authority to forgive student loans, and Congress has given him no specific authority here. And the action won’t benefit students in short order. It’s another government subsidy to colleges and universities, and they’ll reciprocate by raising tuitions.

Sheera, I'm 1/27 parents you interviewed & at no point did I tell you I "adopted anti-vaccine positions during the pandemic," so I question accuracy of what you claim others shared. I'm not sure why you fail to understand anti-mandate ≠ anti-vaccine. But mostly I am PRO-CHILD.

There is a worrying new trend of misusing modelling as propaganda Using model outputs as proof of its own assumptions, ignoring uncertainty and variability - all to promote predetermined policy 🚨Warning: contains policy based evidence With @TAH_Sci alasdairmunro.substack.com/p…

Since the pandemic began, there have a been a total of 4 deaths of Minnesota kids under age 15 with covid. The CDC estimates that about 80% of kids have had covid already. This means the chance a kid survives after getting covid is about 99.9995%.
