Thread: Masks and NPIs. This thread reviews information published from Oct 2019 - Dec 2020. The point is to see what was known/believed before & after discovery of COV2. We'll start with research on epidemic/pandemic influenza (flu) from Oct of 2019. Aerosols vs. droplets. /1

Is this true for all LLMs? Is there a version of any LLM where this type of idiocy doesn't continually happen? I get this all the time with SuperGrok, ChatGPT (paid), and GitHub CoPilot (all agents) TLDR of the screenshot is: - I ask a question related to the immediately-preceding exchange (most recent 4-5 messages) - @SuperGrok gives the wrong answer by 1 message - I tell it that's the wrong answer - It bakes the wrong answer into every reply no matter how much I scream until I tell it to literally print the conversation, after which it goes, "Oh, oops, you're right." - Its excuse is "persisted reasoning"

8. Why Trump’s Pick for NIH Matters Dr. Jay Bhattacharya was one of the few voices to challenge the government’s Covid policies. Benz explained why Trump naming him as Director of NIH is so important.

Okay, I've got to admit... This meme made me smile this morning. 😁 Honestly, I'd love the opportunity for a role at the CDC to help public health rebuild some trust, and I'm already in Atlanta...🤷‍♀️

I'm talking out of turn, but when I think of the much needed shakeup at the CDC, I think of Kelley K.

Flashback to April of 2021, a full year+ after CoV2 emerged. I was suspended for this tweet (img 1) despite using the same language as the WHO itself. The @tracewoodgrains thread about @elonmusk and @x prompted me to dig it up. What a massive improvement since then.
Ok, I'm back. It took longer than 12 hours because I appealed the decision. The appeal was rejected with no explanation of what was wrong. In my appeal, I pointed out my statement was based on wording from the WHO Dec 2020 Guidance, which I attached to that Tweet and again here.

YES!!! Please yes. @DrJBhattacharya
BREAKING NEWS: The Washington Post reports that Stanford professor, @BiosafetyNow board member, co-host of @SciFrTheFringe, and most importantly, my "good friend"-- Dr. Jay Bhattacharya @DrJBhattacharya, is a leading candidate to head the NIH.

Yesterday, I posted a thread abt the day I lost writing my election 'take' for an assigning editor who rejected it bc I refused to call Trump "an embarrassment." Last night I had a request from @WSJ to see the piece and here it is, exactly as I wrote it: wsj.com/opinion/why-i-voted-…

You are both half-correct, and in the same way. It's the other half where you demonstrate the very same catastrophic lack of self-awareness, glaringly evident to much of the country, that voided any chance your candidate might have had to prevail in this election. Where you are right: Yes, you should make your case cogently and abundantly in and across public forums, alternative media, etc. Do it. Compete in the battleground of ideas and may the best win, ON THE MERITS. Where you are wrong: Unbeknownst to you, your own words and entire framing reek of condescension and the unquestioned assumption that while YOU possess truth, your opposition are a bunch of ignorant clods living in a propaganda bubble engineered by "the Republicans". How absolutely rich, coming from the side armed with an overwhelmingly privileged share of the machinery of mainstream media, of the universities, of Hollywood, plus battalions of fear-mongering harpies from the pundit class blaring into living rooms across the country 24/7. You live and breathe inside your own propaganda bubble and until you somehow gain the detachment to notice that you will be incapable of genuine engagement beyond preaching-to-the-converted. You imagine that the goal now is to "pierce" someone else's bubble, but you will fail in that endeavor. Those people won't even be able to hear you - not until you stop talking from behind the meter thick wall of plexiglass that surrounds you and of which you are not conscious. *Metaphor-alert: by "plexiglass" I mean the thick and impenetrable material of your own assumptions concerning these other people, why they feel and think the way they do, and what your relationship is to them.

@DrJBhattacharya & John Ioannidis are two brilliant, hard working, inspiring & humble physician-scientist colleagues of mine who I think our country would benefit from having in healthcare leadership roles under @realDonaldTrump ❤️/RT if you agree – at Palo Alto, CA

Well, well, well…time to fire this up now that RFK was brought into the team. Give me a healthy dose of: @DrJBhattacharya @TracyBethHoeg @MartyMakary All under the supervision of @KelleyKga And if there’s room for me, I’d love to help. CDC Independent Audit Commission
The CDC Independent Audit Commission (CIAC) awaits… But only if DeSantis (or RFK?) is elected.

Wow, it really was Region 6. Look at the before and after. I don’t remember seeing an entire region have an artificial spike and then disappear the next week. The ED% showed admissions couldn’t be right.
Jay, you may not have seen my original reply regarding Region 6, but I hope you see this follow-up. I think I might have gotten this one right. It also shows your intuition was good. The National uptick in admissions wasn’t real.

Look at wastewater, she says. Most definitely shows a rise, she says. It seems the “COVID Cautious” strangely want COVID to be worse than it is? Why is that?

1,300 likes for misinformation? I average around 30 for factual posts showing the real data. He doesn’t even show nor reference data. He just makes a wild claim, and it goes viral? I obviously don’t know how to play this game. Can someone Community Note his tweet?
