When Jesus was tempted, scripture flowed from his lips. When Jesus was challenged, scripture flowed from his lips. When Jesus was crucified, scripture flowed from his lips. One of the ways to live like Jesus is to internalize scripture, so that when we are cut, it spills out.

When I was a pastor and we were behind in finances, a wise Trustee said we do not have a funding problem we have an idea problem. Funding follows great ideas. I never forgot that and never will. Let's come up with a great ideas and let God handle the funding.

Our weekend did not go as planned…pretty much in any aspect, including church today. This week I’m incredibly thankful that the work of the Spirit is not dependent upon everything going according to *our* plan. Despite our last-minute pivots, God showed up. #newpastormoments

This week, I learned that when imposter syndrome hits, the best move is to lean hard into who I was created to be. Not the trending podcast preacher or the popular pastor on the bestseller list, but me, Pastor Barbara. #newpastormoments

Pastoring is so much easier when we are able to lay down the burden of thinking we need to be an expert in all things.

"God doesn't give up on them" might be the singular theme of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

If a pastor who owned slaves is a “man of his time” but a pastor who ordains women should be “disfellowshipped”… Two of your biases are showing my friend.

What would you like to know? If the question is related to sexuality, I chaired the committee that wrote the current Manual statement and am in complete agreement with it.

GS Filimao Chambo is asking the delegation to switch off your social media and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us in the work of our business and elections. Be careful of how we speak to and about one another. #NazGA2023

The theologians in our Nazarene educational institutions are faithful servants of the church who care deeply about Scripture and the leading of the Spirit. We should celebrate their gifts and demonstrate respect for the work they do. #NazGA2023

Wild to me that some Nazarene clergy are against proposed statements against the death penalty #NazGA2023 #GenAss2023

Studies show that queer people who stay in the church are 30-55% more likely to die by suicide than those who leave. Let that sink in. We are MORE likely to die if we go to church on Sunday. Jesus saves. It’s time for his church to stop killing us.

John the Baptist exhibits theological virtue in recognizing that his prophetic word is not what will straighten out the crooked world. His role, rather, is to straighten the path for the one who will. Pastors and theologians, our role is not to fix the world, but witness to Jesus

Whenever I train preachers, I tell them to simply say “thank you” when they are complimented. No need to say stuff like, “it was all God.” I understand why people say it but I tell them at if it was "all God" it would've been much better than that! 😁
