In HS my youth pastor abused a girl in my youth group. My dad (the lead pastor) found out. The YP was fired and reported to authorities. He lost his credentials and went to jail.
That’s it. That’s the whole story. That’s how these stories should end. Coverups are not ok.
Chera, Harper, and I will be doing our annual Prayer retreat over the next 2 days. How can I pray for you?
If it’s something you’d like to keep private you can DM me.
A reminder that the Wesleyan-Holiness and Pentecostal views of empowering women in ministry come from careful reading of scripture, logical conclusions, early church/NT history, and experience of the church world.
If you live for people’s applause… you will die by their criticism.
And in case you’ve never met people…
They. Are. Fickle!
Or as @BethMooreLPM says, "if they adore you, they will soon abhor you"
Politics becomes an idol when winning politically becomes more important than living faithfully. And we see people we are supposed to love as enemies to be destroyed.
If winning costs us our witness, we’ve already lost.
Preaching on The Idol of Politics this Sunday.
Appreciate prayers my friends!
I’ve been inspired by listening to and reading @BethMooreLPM @Bezner @AndyStanley @iansimkins @timkellernyc and others these past few weeks.
Hey, Miss @BethMooreLPM I was at Chick-fil-A today, and got really excited because they had mac & cheese and I was gonna post it here because I thought that was one of the things they discontinued that you missed.
And then I remembered you were mad about the coleslaw. Welp…
When Jesus tells us to love our neighbor, our instinct is to ask, “But who IS my neighbor?”
His answer?
The one who disagrees politically and theologically.
The one who differs racially and nationalistically.
The one who you may very well consider an enemy.
Joke or not, trolling or not: Trump’s post depicting himself as Christ is Blasphemous.
God will not be mocked my friends. Of that I am sure. And there is only one worthy of your ultimate loyalty, trust, and adoration.
Jesus. Only Jesus. Always Jesus.
Christian history makes this clear:
You can serve Caesar or Jesus, Ares or Yahweh, Babylon or the New Jerusalem, not both.
Each demands your allegiance. One offers power and bloodlust; the other freedom and peace.
We all choose who we serve.
Jesus. Only Jesus. Always Jesus.
God,
You are the One who calms the raging nations and brings peace.
Cover innocents with Your wings, O Lord, that beneath they may find safety.
Teach us to turn from evil and to do good, to seek peace, trusting in Your justice that lifts up the humble and humbles the proud.
Once again woke liberal Pastor Piper asking people to *checks tweet*
Reach out to God in troubled times.
Heretic.
*sarcasm font*
Tweeted this a while back… evergreen.
“Imagine living in a fantasy world where John Piper is a self righteous virtue signaler, Tim Keller is a leftist liberal, and Beth Moore is a sinful Jezebel...
But Donald Trump is gonna save America. 😳”
A few years ago I tried to impress Chera with lines from the OG love poems.
It worked out pretty awesome!!
As Christians, we don’t win by picking up the enemy’s weapons.
When we answer lies with lies or confuse cruelty for convictions; we may feel victorious, but we’re being shaped by what desires to destroy us.
The ONLY way forward is the way of Jesus.
Only Jesus. Always Jesus.
