US: well, they stormed the Capitol and tried to blow up the political headquarters, but they didn't succeed, so, it's not a real coup attempt Great Britain: every year we have bonfires and fireworks to remind us of that time 400 years ago when someone found some gunpowder

Considering age and gender alone, Trump has about a 50% chance of being alive to run in the next 2 presidential elections. I wouldn't put it past him to try this two more times.
oh you’re tired of the 2020 redux discourse now? consider that if Harris wins, there’s a pretty decent chance the election in 2028 will once again be “Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump”

Replying to @atrupar
@atrupar directly quotes Trump and posts the clip, with no interpretation, just the literal words from Trump's mouth. Joe Walsh: "THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SAID!"
Trump did NOT call for Liz Cheney to be executed. This is what’s so wrong with our politics today. Look, you know how I feel about Trump, and I’ve been out there every day for 2-3 months campaigning my ass off to help get @KamalaHarris elected, but this short clip is so deceptive. Trump is NOT calling for Liz Cheney to be executed in front of a firing line. He’s not. Listen to the entirety of what he said. In Trump’s typically stupid, ugly fashion, he’s trying to make a point about Cheney’s stance on war. But Aaron (who I like & respect), by posting ONLY this 11 second clip, makes it look like he’s calling for her to be executed. He’s not. He’s an utterly horrible human being who’s utterly unfit for office, but the truth should always matter. And the truth is that Trump is not calling for Liz Cheney to be executed. But…this 11 second clip will have a gazillion views, and the truth will have just a handful of views.

Now, anyone who passed highschool literature should be able to tell you that, no, Trump is not trying to make a substantive argument about foreign policy. He's using violent imagery because he is angry with Cheney for disagreeing with him.

Trump and Cheney hold THE SAME POSITION on war and torture (the hawkish position Liz and her father hold). This is clearly a pretextual reason for using the violent imagery of a firing squad trained on Cheney's face.

Morning edition on NPR did an entire segment on Biden's alleged garbage gaffe without even mentioning Puerto Rico. Classic white supremacy.

I think the closest they got was "Biden claims he was referring to a comedian at a rally, not Trump supporters."

Trump, Miller and Musk's Nazi rally was a success. They turned it into grievance at being called out for their racism, and that grievance is now centered by our mainstream media, including NPR. It's disgusting.

Good thread and this point, in particular, is important. I believe most of the time this is simply a permission structure.

Honestly, if Kamala goes on Rogan, the news she should make is promising to declassify the Epstein files and implying Trump is on them
This would explain Trump’s unwillingness to declassify the Epstein files

Watch for the student who asks you for clarification because they look for these instructions, e.g., "Dr. Socia, I noticed you included hidden instructions in your question. Is this a tactic to identify the use of AI tools, or do you actually want us to do what you asked?"

This has to be a bit. I can't imagine anyone having the mental capacity to write a few tweets who is also stupid enough to think making fun of Trump in this manner means you endorse his policy.
its truly crazy how in 2016 "build the wall" was arguably the single line that liberals most affiliated with trump to be representative of bigotry and fascism and now we're here

Watching Univision in Phoenix, and I see Trump ads but no Harris ads. I think that's a huge mistake by the Harris campaign and may be responsible for her underperformance among Hispanics in Maricopa county. @Garrett_Archer

I agree with the sentiment and the health insurance, poverty, literacy and mental illness figures are in the ballpark, but the shooting number is nowhere near correct. The correct rate applied to 400 people would be one shooting every 2700 years, shooting death every 8000 years.

Gun violence is an issue in a population of over 330 million, particularly in (mostly rural, but some urban) pockets. But our anxiety about gun violence does not match the actual risk to the median American.

I do not understand the obsession with policy differences between Harris and Biden. She's not running against Biden, she's just VP. Biden dropped out because he is too old, not because his policies are bad. Harris is not too old. That's the key difference.

People heard ChatGPT passed the bar exam and think that means it can practice law.
