Dear national media: Instead of using photos of LBJ signing the Voting Rights Act, use this one of its bi-partisan reauthorization. It does more to show how far we’ve regressed in a few short years.

Starting Wednesday, for the first time since the Pentagon opened in 1943, there will be likely no major news outlets accredited to cover the dept, the one spending nearly $1 trillion of taxpayer money. Why? This Pentagon Press Association explains it best. Please read.
Strong statement from the Pentagon Press Association, noting that most members on Wednesday will have their credentials confiscated by the Pentagon and won’t be given new ones because the reporters can’t and won’t “acknowledge a policy that gags Pentagon employees and threatens retaliation against reporters who seek out information that has not been pre-approved for release.”

AOC: "On this point of tax on tips, as one of the only people in this body who has lived off of tips, I want to tell you a little bit about the scam ... the cap on that is $25,000 while you're jacking up taxes on people who make less than $50,000 across the US ... while kicking them off the ACA."

Pope Leo XIV travels to the General Curia of the Order of Saint Augustine, just outside the colonnade of St. Peter's Square, on Tuesday. The Pope visited the campus that houses the Patristic Institute Augustinianum to celebrate Mass and have lunch with the Augustinians, according to the Holy See Press Office.

Rep @jamestalarico vs Public Education Chairman @BradBuckleyDVM over why Buckley held a meeting about multi-billion school finance and voucher proposals without a video live stream. By the way this is a key reason to have a robust Capitol press corps covering your government

An excellent thread 🧵 on how ridiculously complex, time consuming, expensive, and, in many ways, illogical the U.S. immigration system is.
Replying to @SiddhantAdlakha
The green card often has a really high barrier to entry—or it has a ridiculously long wait time. And by that I mean there currently people in green card queues that could last *100 years*

This is random, but one of my favorite stats about just how big Texas is: I-10 runs from the Santa Monica Pier to the Port of Jacksonville—ocean to ocean. From the Pacific to the NM/TX line: 800 miles. From the Atlantic to the LA/TX line: 780 miles. In Texas *alone*: 881 miles.
