The 19th Edition of *Professional CMake: A Practical Guide* is now available. One highlight is the new FetchContent behavior that avoids a sub-build (big potential performance gains!). Updated material for Qt 6.7 too. Get it from the usual place: crascit.com/professional-cma…

Reiterating this, the upcoming CMake 3.30 release has a big performance improvement to FetchContent which started from one user taking the time and effort to provide benchmarks and a carefully researched bug report. It turned out to be hard to fix, but their effort motivated me.
Replying to @crascit
But I also try to reward positive behavior. More than once, I have invested unplanned time (occasionally lots!) into an issue purely because the issue reporter did such a great job. As a maintainer, I take note of how you interact with the community, both negative and positive.
