We are excited to host our first French language workshop as part of our national study on aging & mental health—working with health+social care providers to co-design mental health conversations at the point-of-care —a wealth of experience & expertise to learn from in this room!
A deeply funny and insightful talk by Pat Armstrong on Ways of Seeing Care in long term care helped kick off day 2 of #CAHSPR23
"We understand care as a relationship" is one assumption Pat mentioned her research group was centered around. Rather than doing 'patient-focused' work, they looked at residents, care providers & caregivers altogether with a belief they are inextricably intertwined. #CAHSPR23
Photovoice w/ residents to identify what works & what doesn't in LTC often involved photos of staff. People who made the residents feel safe or cared for.
This really echoes work I've done w/ homecare providers on the deep meaningful connection btwn staff & clients #CAHSPR23
It's almost time #CAHSPR23! Stop by the International Room I to watch me talk about #olderadult #mentalhealth at 3:45pm
