Homelessness may be a regional problem, but it is first and foremost a local problem. Regional solutions brought to us by the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), who also advocate for light rail, have failed miserably and only exacerbated the problem. Not surprisingly, under #Scottsdale Mayor Ortega’s leadership, homelessness, crime and drug abuse have skyrocketed. Unfortunately, pictures like these are now all too common in old town Scottsdale. Mayor Ortega believes homeless hotels and throwing borrowed federal dollars at the problem are the solution. We need a mayor who will work collaboratively with our law-enforcement partners and encourage them to enforce our existing laws. Scottsdale residents deserve a mayor who prioritizes the public’s safety. Vote @borowsky4mayor

And yet we have an out of touch #Scottsdale Mayor who proudly supports raising taxes on residents. Mayor Ortega knows his constituents are suffering under crippling inflation yet he currently supports TWO new tax increases, prop 479 a $15 billion county sales tax and prop 490, a $1 billion city-wide sales tax increase.
