Health Equity is measured as the difference in access to care between low-income groups and high income-groups. And Australia scores well on equity, because we are unaffordable to lots of people in the high income groups as well as low income groups.

The quality of care provided by Ambulances services (health services in general) should be judged based on how tightly the distribution of safe and reasonable care is amongst their clinical workforce.

Ventilation is important because COVID is airborne. To reduce the risk of catching or spreading the virus, meet up outdoors whenever you can & add fresh air into indoor spaces.

Paramedics were complicit in the homicide of a young person because their para-professional identity was more closely allied with that of law enforcement and emergency services than an ideal of healthcare practitioners whose role is to advocate & intervene on a patients behalf

There's a big reality gap right now between people who are actively staying on top of COVID research & those who just trust the current guidelines. There's no judgment here, but I'd like to try to communicate the worldview of the former based on what we know about COVID now:

Devastating๐. @anisaassifi explaining how just 11% of GPs are licensed to prescribe abortion meds, and dispensing registration rests with individual pharmacists (pharmacies cannot dispense if they are absent, or move away)- resulting in large โabortion desertsโ #RANZCOG23

the basis for our disdain of a registrant engaging in sex work is not a concern for the safety of patients, nor the standard of care they receive, the protection of their agency, or the ability to secure the provision of healthcare to the community.

This poster totally changed my practice. I was a 2.5mg at a time kinda guy because that's what everyone does, right? Changed to slow full dose and what a difference it makes to patients pain, along with IV paracetamol ๐ Had a patient with 8-9/10 pain and once at hospital, 2/10
A great poster by the team @FHEMS_ARU showing the gaps in pain Mx in Paramedic practice. Slow full doses of Morphine have always worked so much better in my practice in comparison to โtitrationโ of smaller doses. #ParaCon23 @ParamedicsUK
