With a couple of modifications, a good #Torch can largely replace multiple daily use items we have or wish for in ambulance (& ?ED). Does anyone know a torch company that does R&D with frontliners but also offers fair royalties or IP acquisition for unpatented concepts?

I had the honour of meeting Professor Chamberlain in 2014. I will never forget him smacking his cane on a desk so we would pay attention ๐Ÿ˜… Professor Chamberlain is one of the giants whose shoulders the entire paramedic profession stands upon. This is a sad day for paramedicine.

It's hard to believe that #SMACC2013 was 12 years ago. It was like the #ChickenBomb of #FOAMed - but in a good way!

So will this be a risk factor in the HEART score, or will COVID get its own category? Will the new acronym have to be RACHET?

Someone asked me what our protocol is for managing O2 cylinders after an #ambulance crash... Now I'm on a deep dive of O2 storage requirements and best practices ๐Ÿ˜…

Health Equity is measured as the difference in access to care between low-income groups and high income-groups. And Australia scores well on equity, because we are unaffordable to lots of people in the high income groups as well as low income groups. #ChurchillDeepEnd

When I tell people that health/healthcare in the NT is like being in another country, I'm not kidding. There's a tuberculosis/leprosy clinic in all the major regions. nt.gov.au/wellbeing/hospitalโ€ฆ I grew up with TB fences on our cattle property. tfhc.nt.gov.au/heritage-librโ€ฆ

My students asked and now I want to know... If you're doing CPR on a steep hill, which direction do you want the patients head pointing? Head down feels intuitive, but then there's the studies about head elevated CPR... @Ziad_Nehme1 @Aidan_Baron Any thoughts?

I saw a happy hypoxic COVID patient this week. I haven't seen this since 2022! I hope it's not a sign of things to come this winter.

This @AdamRouilly skeleton has been in the family for four generations of doctors, nurses, midwives and a paramedic. I'm taking it into uni to show students soon, and the family is stoked that it still gets used for education.

How to not set your patient on fire with the O2 cylinder. This seems like important information I haven't encountered at uni, or in 9 years on road!
A bit of 30 second CPD on O2 cylinder safety I generated, as the topic has come up again today. This is basics, itโ€™s legislation, (PUWER) and seldomly taught.
