Is it just me or does overriding the status bar time to 9:41 (using xcrun simctl...) in iOS 16.1 simulators not work with Xcode 14.1?

With Apple’s recent changes to ads on the App Store, your product pages may now show ads for gambling apps. One of my product pages just did that 😞

The new Find interaction in iOS 16 was hell to implement well across a variety of keyboard/device configurations. There are still some edge cases that aren't handled. More about that here: xitter.cf/chockenberry/status/15…
Who at Apple thought that this was a keyboard layout worth investing time in? (That's a trick question: the answer is "no one" - this thing is buggy as hell!)

Looks like widgets continue to not have access to any privacy protected data sources in 16.1 Beta 2 (photos, calendar, reminders …). I really hope this gets fixed soon, starting to get a fair few complaints from folks on the beta that all their widgets are busted. FB11532814
Fun regression in iOS 16.1 - Widgets now _always_ get denied access to PHPhotoLibrary, even if the containing app has full access. FB11524541

Is there really no way in SwiftUI to make a standard system Done button (similar to UIBarButtonItem.SystemItem.done) or can I just not find it? Do I have to localize Done and Cancel buttons myself when using SwiftUI?

Notice how the action labeled ‘3’ is shown in the ‘…’ menu two times when the action is added to the toolbar but it’s too narrow for the action to fit into the toolbar. UIKit will overflow it into the ‘…’ causing it to be displayed twice. That’s bad and I want to avoid it.

Looks like -[NSFileManager startDownloadingUbiquitousItemAtURL:error:] does not have an effect on folders anymore. I call this method with the URL of a not-yet-downloaded folder within my app's iCloud container. Files within the folder are not downloaded on iOS 15.5.

Is anyone else seeing this? This used to work in earlier iOS version. The issue might have been introduced in iOS 14 since I see the same problem on iOS 14.8.

📝 Recently, we rewrote part of our Catalog example project in SwiftUI to see how far we could go and where it would bring us. In this post, we share the challenges we faced and the lessons we learned from this project. pspdfkit.com/blog/2022/rewri…

If you’re a developer (or iPadOS user!) who is excited about the new customisable toolbars in iPadOS 16 but you have concerns about where in the UI to place actions that are used less frequently, then please duplicate my feedback #WWDC22 github.com/simonbs/AppleFeed…

The new iOS APIs seem to be much better documented than in previous years where there was often "No overview available". Thanks for the effort! The "New Technologies WWDC22" docs which highlight new frameworks and APIs are great, too.
