If I’m buying a Mac mini, I think the sweet spot is M6, 32 GB memory and 256 GB SSD. Apple’s SSD prices are ridiculous, so I’d rather add a 2 TB external SSD. It should be plenty for Codex and Claude, with room to play a bit with local models too.

More people than I expected are suggesting running agents on Linux VMs and giving them access to a remote Mac for iOS and Mac development. But at ~$249/month for a Mac at MacStadium, or per-minute pricing elsewhere, I think it’ll get expensive fast for personal projects.

Here’s a random Danish guy dropping into my replies suggesting I shouldn’t optimize my agent setup because, translated, he says I don’t build anything of value. It’s 2026 and his bread and butter is building WordPress themes. This place is amazing 😁

I shouldn’t have said “when you close your laptop.” That confused the point. It’s not about closing the lid. I want my agents working when my laptop is in my backpack or offline. They can’t depend on my laptop. I need a Mac that’s always available.

Is it just me or is Safari on the Duo… ugly? The right toolbar wastes a ton of space, and the Liquid Glass buttons just float over a solid background. This doesn’t emphasize the content, as the new design language is supposed to. It feels like Safari didn’t get much love.
