Are we going to educate, or incarcerate? Just finished the #reentry2030 launch event -> great advocacy from Nicole Jarrett, @MzDeHoskins, @ElgieSims and @DylanHayre. Inaction is a decision! Let's go forward reinventing #reetry from #prison with #education reentry2030.org/

Over the past 15 months, demand from people in prison for Level's educational material has increased a whopping 100%+ every month. And we're still in stealth mode. What does this tell you? #prisoneducation #OER #creativecommons #education learnlevel.org/impact/

🚨BIG ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 We are launching our next Level guide: Food Prep Certification! Job training resources are so crucial for helping prepare people to hit the ground running upon release, and we hope this guide will help them do exactly that.

4,149 total guides sent 235 prisons in 39 states 42 jails in 21 states 27 federal prisons 496 guides sent directly to inmates who have written us to request a guide via mail We've been able to do a lot so far, but we're only just getting started.

Our team has been able to circulate thousands of our free educational guides across the country to fill the gap in prison education programs and supply incarcerated folks with job training manuals and content for personal skill development. Here's Level, by the numbers:

We’re seeing facilities across the country implement new measures to restrict access to books. This report about Iowa State Prisons is just the latest in a concerning trend. iowapublicradio.org/ipr-news…

In this stack of outgoing mail, we just sent our 4000th guide! We’re proud of what we’ve done so far and can’t wait to see how many more guides we can distribute in the years to come

This story from @motherboard reveals the complete lack of privacy for folks inside. Now people don’t even get to hold on to physical mail from friends and loved ones? vice.com/en/article/wx8ven/p…
