A great start to some cool science. Highlights the unique possibilities of having two co-located lightsources (SSRL and the LCLS).
SLAC scientists shed light on nitroxide, a molecule with potential applications in the biomedical field.
What they learned could lead to entirely new ways to use light to treat cardiovascular, microbial infections, cancer, and other health conditions.

Out in @J_A_C_S! Studying the electronic structures of trigonal non-heme Fe(IV)=O systems. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jac…
New user study officially out in JACS using ultrafast XANES and XES to monitor cobalamin photodynamics.

Looking to hire a postdoc for a 2-year (funded) project I'm guiding at the LCLS @SLAClab. Background in inorganic chemistry with a motivation to learn X-ray spectroscopy and photochemistry of bioinorganic systems would be ideal. #chemjobs

Not sure who was waiting with bated breath but I've recovered spectra.tools and the encryption issue has been resolved. A semi-smooth 11th hour conversion to Rancher 2 thanks to excellent support at @NERSC as usual.

Congratulations to the ~75 scientific groups and hundreds of researchers from across the US and around the world awarded access to our #LCLS facility @SLAClab! An incredible array ranging from RNA studies to additive manufacturing & magma oceans. lcls.slac.stanford.edu/sites…
Our work out in IC. Part 2/3 of the "new old mutants" nitrogenase series. Finally a study with my friends @SimonScientific and @GalactaPug together.
Convincing study from Cramer et al. on CO-binding [MoFe]-nitrogenase. Their data suggest an unique correlation between EPR signals lo-CO, hi-CO, and hi(5)-CO and FTIR signals Lo-1, Hi-1, and Hi-2.
Out now with @InorgChem!

Please consider attending the Ultrafast X-ray Summer School (UXSS) held at @SLAClab on June 20-23. There will be great talks and a data analysis workshop. Registration is $25 and open until June 1.

Switching things up. Just published an IR study on the R277H mutant in good 'ole nitrogenase. Rationalizing observed IR to epr species. The legacy of @GalactaPug.
