Genuine accessibility is not: adding alt text to your images, using camel case for your hashtags, giving up ASCII art and special characters, using emoji sparingly, continuing to design the same old ableist content w/o disabled people. #A11y
I’m looking for examples of typos and mistakes that have not been picked up by proofreading (probably because there was no proofreading). Stuff that’s gone to print, made it onto a billboard, lasted long enough to screenshot on social. Please share howlers, thanks! 🙏
Two years gone, not at all faded or forgotten. This was the last time I saw Weatherall play. I ran the last bit of the way because I was so desperate to be on this dance floor at Le Bar à Vins. I can still feel the feelings from that day. #AndrewWeatherall

“Trying to condense 30 years of musical heritage into a 60 minute mix with a talent like Andrew's is like trying to catch lightning in a bottle”

💯 Replace “design system” with “website” and this also holds true. Maintenance, especially of content, is woefully underfunded. As an agency owner who strongly believes in sustainability, I’d love to maintain the sites and style guides we make, but rarely get the opportunity.

Be more @LEGO_Group. In most ways, but especially in how their CX teams handle customer queries.

ALT A screenshot of a customer service email from Lego. The email reads: "Dear John, Thanks for getting in touch with us and providing that information! I am so sorry that you are missing bag 14 from your Mos Eisley Cantina! This must be the work of Lord Vader. Fear not, for I have hired Han to get that bag right out to you. Your order will be arriving in the next 7-10 days (or less than 12 parsecs). Have a bricktastic day and may the Force be with you :)"

Introducing Cartridge! My new font inspired by old video game labels. It's available now in the shop, along with some other things 🧵

There's a pervasive fear amongst some designers and devs of long pages of content.
They're often less of a problem for users than we imagine they will be - but we resort to tabs, accordions or details before we try out the simpler thing of The Big Long Page.
Why is that?
Because you never don't need this in your ears. Thanks for the reminder @D0YoU. 😌 open.spotify.com/track/2sohl…
The lovely @MarcellaDeptfrd is not just a great restaurant, it's a great restaurant with a great website. Not a PDF menu in sight. A rare and beautiful thing. marcella.london/

I see many people defending that they deserve their privileges when that’s rarely if ever questioned.
I wish they would move from “I deserve this” to “everyone deserves this” and then the next step to: “as someone who has it, I will fight for everyone else to have it too.”
Your contact us page is the digital equivalent of your reception desk. It needs to smile warmly at people.
Voice and tone is a thousand times more useful and usable than tone of voice. It allows a consistent brand personality to be present in content and means content can be appropriate and context-aware. Split them up. Give them the right job. Make them work for you and your users.

There are some big problems with “user needs” as we use them in public sector digital transformation.
They are a useful tool to get government and tech to think about people, BUT...

Taking the whole content strategy and cake thing really seriously this week: running @contentiousltd by day, making wedding cake for 140 people by night.
