The NFL has concluded that the process surrounding Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts being cleared to play in Week 5 with a superficial blood clot “was handled appropriately,” a league source tells @TheAthletic nytimes.com/athletic/7708077…

One area in which Josh Jacobs might help: the Packers rank last this season with 2.11 yards after contact per rush. Over 2024 and 2025, Jacobs ranked 12th in that category at 3.28 yards. Can he help save the league’s worst rushing attack? Story: nytimes.com/athletic/7705770…

Minter didn't dismiss the idea of bringing in another kicker. He's been pretty reluctant to criticize or challenge players publicly early in his tenure as HC, but he's been pretty strong about frustration with Loop's misses today.

Minter said he really didn't consider going for it here with how the offense was struggling. Didn't want to risk giving up the ball on their own side of the field.
Jesse Minter's decision yesterday to take the delay of game (and then punt) in a 13-13 game with 2:08 left in the 4th was the mostly costly win probability 4th down call so far this season (by a lot) per ESPN's model

Jonathan Gannon may not have been the flashiest DC hire, but it certainly looks like the right one. Without Micah Parsons and Edgerrin Cooper, Gannon has his defense playing like one of the NFL’s best. Breaking it down after Packers 23, Cowboys 13: nytimes.com/athletic/7703964…

As it turned out, it was all a tease. The late-game execution. The clutch FGs. The win-preserving stops. All of it. In loss to Browns, the Ravens showed that they still have a knack for dropping games they have no business losing. (FREE TO READ) nytimes.com/athletic/7702846…

The NFL is expected to suspend Jacobs, but it's TBD on how many games. If the league decides on a six-game suspension, he won't miss any more games after Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys. If it's more than six, then he'll miss more games. For now, he'll be eligible to play against the Lions next Sunday.
News: Josh Jacobs is being removed from the Commissioner Exempt List on Monday and will be eligible to practice and play next week. The NFL investigation is ongoing and he can still be suspended, but as of now he’ll be at practice next week before the Packers visit the Lions.

Lamar Jackson again not practicing in portion open to media, so he’ll presumably miss his second straight game with ankle injury.

From Weeks 1-3, the Packers ranked 31st in pressure rate allowed. In Weeks 4 and 5, they rank first. Behind the remarkable offensive line improvement are two new guards who came out of nowhere. Will they stay in the lineup? Story: nytimes.com/athletic/7691042…

A few guys still trickling out on practice field, but no sign of QB Lamar Jackson. Minter has consistently said that Jackson wouldn’t necessarily need to practice to play Sunday. But it’s been 10 days now since he’s been on field. Seems pretty obvious where this is headed.
