That was a different world. Better in some ways, worse in others. Glad I got to experience it.

Anthropic is killing it with these technical posts. If you're an AI dev, stop what you are doing and go read this. It shows, in great detail, how to implement an effective multi-agent research system. Pay attention to these key parts:

Okay, let's talk about Trump end game. To do that, let's read Stephen Miran's "A User's Guide to Restructuring the Global Trading System" together. Note that there's a disclaimer that this is not a policy advocacy but catalog of tools available for them to "reshape the global trading system." hudsonbaycapital.com/documen…
Okay, I think I figured out what is Trump's ultimate game in this escalated US-China trade tensions and I think he will get it. Will share my thoughts in a thread soon! 😎

Liquidity. It’s one of the most frequently used words in finance. It gets invoked to explain virtually everything and anything. But it’s often clear that those invoking it are just parroting things they learned somewhere along the way and don’t truly grasp the mechanics of it. Most don’t even make the basic distinctions among its various forms. Here’s a rough TL;DR of what you need to know: 1/7

Only Ayn Rand was smart enough to predict that incompetence and an ENVY for excellence will lead to dystopian social outcomes. Orwell thought we'd need total mind control, Huxley thought we'd need a permanently drugged populace, but Rand knew: all you need is resentment

Briefly: Members of MAGA are an alienated subculture within a national superpower that is among the wealthiest, most culturally diverse (highest immigrant pop of any nation), and most innovative in the world, foisting upon them a fast-changing, highly-educated, competitive 21st century they don't recognize, with values they don't resonate with, in a social environment in which (they believe) they mostly haven't been winning economically or culturally for decades. They are dispossessed and resentful and see this as not just a failure but a prolonged and intentional assault upon them by a set of liberal (small-l) elites, and (again, their view) are desperate to find a warrior-champion who is so outside the existing power structure (as of 2016) and so anti-establishment that he'd be willing to burn everything down in their name if they'd give him the power and adulation that constitutes his deepest psychological drive and which his narcissism demands. And they made that trade, and continue to do so.

take a brief moment to consider the possibility that something that is incredibly, even unsurmountably difficult for u right now could suddenly, quickly, easily become much more feasible, possible, available with the right idea, tool, context, frame, collaborator

Romans were known to create tombs for their dogs and gave them epitaphs to remember them by. Here are a few touching examples: 1.) "I am in tears, while carrying you to your last resting place as much as I rejoiced when bringing you home in my own hands fifteen years ago." 2.) "Thou who passest on this path, If haply thou dost mark this monument, Laugh not, I pray thee, though it is a dog's grave. Tears fell for me, and the dust was heaped above me By a master's hand." 3.) "This is the tomb of the dog, Stephanos, who perished, Whom Rhodope shed tears for and buried like a human. I am the dog Stephanos, and Rhodope set up a tomb for me." 4.) "[Myia] never barked without reason, but now he is silent." 5.) "Issa's more pert than Lesbia's sparrow love, Purer than kisses of a turtle-dove, More sweet than hundred maidens rolled in one, Rarer than wealthy India's precious stone. She is the pet of Publius, Issa dear; She whines, a human voice you seem to hear." 6.) "Surely even as thou liest dead in this tomb I deem the wild beasts yet fear thy white bones, huntress Lycas; and thy valour great Pelion knows, and splendid Ossa and the lonely peaks of Cithaeron."
