ALT The title of this graphic reads: “There are many examples of environmental racism in so-called Canada. One concern is the boil water advisories”. Below the title the text reads: “In November 2015, there were 105 boil water advisories in place. That number has grown by 58 since then. According to Indigenous Services Canada, the federal government has lifted 101 of the advisories, but they will not be able to lift the rest before the March 2021 deadline. The federal government is working on a new approach to eliminate the remaining boil water advisories, but “the new approach does not include any new money or a new deadline - nor will the government produce a list of ‘bad actors’ among contractors”. The current Minister of Indigenous Services announced the development of a website to track the progress of the remaining advisories.” Our sources are listed at the bottom, however due to alt-text limits we cannot list them here.
