Purple State. Green Momentum. Real Results. weigogreener.org/about.php
In a year full of noise and uncertainty, Wisconsin proved something important: results still matter more than rhetoric.
At @weigogreener, we focus on practical solutions that work --lower energy bills, good jobs, affordable housing, and resilient communities. In a purple state like Wisconsin, clean energy succeeds not because it’s ideological, but because it delivers real value.
In 2025, that meant turning momentum into measurable progress --from green building standards and clean-energy policy to local leadership on the global stage.

44 years later. World Series Champions.
What a night.
I was at American Family Field for the Game 5 Watch Party, surrounded by 31 thousand Brewers fans as Milwaukee beat Tampa Bay 4-1 and won the first World Series championship in franchise history.
The place absolutely erupted when the final out was recorded.
For me, it brought the story full circle.
I went to four playoff games in 1982, including two World Series games, and celebrated with thousands of Brewers fans on the field at County Stadium and later on Wisconsin Avenue.
This year, I was fortunate enough to be there again for Milwaukee’s first World Series game in 44 years, and last night at American Family Field to celebrate the moment we had waited all these years to see.
Different stadium. Different generation. Same city. Same passion.
And this time, the ending was perfect.
Sharing a few photos, videos and crowd reactions from a night Milwaukee and Wisconsin will never forget, including this reel from the celebration:

So proud of this team, these fans, Milwaukee and the entire state.
44 years later, we didn’t just get back. We finished it.
World Series Champions.
Go Brewers! 💙💛⚾

44 years. One roaring crowd. Milwaukee back on baseball’s biggest stage!
Game 1 delivered an incredible game and a crowd that made the night unforgettable.
Sharing a few photos and video from a night I’ll always treasure.
So proud of this team, our fans, Milwaukee, and the entire state of Wisconsin. The passion and support remind us this is bigger than baseball. - It’s about community, pride, and generations of memories.
44 years later, we’re back. Now let’s finish what we started in 1982!
Go Brewers! 💙💛⚾

44 years later. Back to the World Series.
In 1982, Cathie and I were dating, and I remember telling her, “You never know how long it’s going to be before they get back to the World Series.”
Turns out, it would be 44 years.
I went to four playoff games that year, including two World Series games, and celebrated with thousands of @Brewers fans on the field at County Stadium and later on Wisconsin Avenue.
One of my favorite memories came when I snagged a free lower-box ticket from a major league umpire staying at the Hyatt. I showed up in full Brewers gear and found myself sitting with the Cardinals contingent, right next to Willie McGee’s wife, while her husband hit two home runs and made an incredible catch at the wall that night.
Now, all these years later, I’m holding another World Series headline, and on Friday night I’ll be there for Milwaukee’s first World Series game in 44 years.
The 1982 ride was unforgettable. This time, I’m hoping we finally get the ending Milwaukee has waited so long for. Go Brewers! #WinOurWay

Data centers. New gas plants. Healthy Homes. Grid reliability. Energy affordability. Clean-energy jobs.
In our latest WEI E-Update, we look at the choices ahead and keep coming back to a few simple questions:
Who pays? Who benefits? Who bears the risk?
Affordability should be the North Star.

Every Wisconsinite deserves a healthy home.
Lower bills. Healthier homes. Good local jobs. Comfortable places to live.
Wisconsin has the solutions. We need the scale: more energy efficiency, stronger building standards and better access to home upgrades.

Something is Happening…
What a night at @AmFamField!
Had a great time taking in the @Brewers NLCS game two with Cle Gray. Gorgeous October weather, an incredible crowd, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you just how special postseason baseball in Milwaukee can be.
Here’s a little taste of the crowd experience:

The Brewers “Win Their Way.” They compete, trust each other, get contributions up and down the lineup, and keep showing what can happen when a team plays with confidence, chemistry, and purpose.
An unforgettable night with a good friend and a packed ballpark full of Brewers fans.

Rising Power Demand Does Not Make New Gas Inevitable wisconsinexaminer.com/2026/1…
Wisconsin is being asked to make 30- and 40-year energy decisions based on electricity-demand forecasts that are changing rapidly.
With data centers driving extraordinary new demand, the question is not simply how many new power plants we can build. It is what combination of generation, storage, efficiency, transmission and demand flexibility can provide the greatest reliability at the lowest overall cost and risk.
That’s the argument in my latest @WIExaminer guest column.
New gas should have to prove it is necessary. It should not be treated as inevitable.

What Climate Week NYC Means for Wisconsin’s Energy Future
#ClimateWeekNYC made one thing clear: the energy conversation is no longer just about emissions. It is increasingly about affordability, AI and data centers, grid reliability, housing, water, infrastructure and public trust. The question for Wisconsin is how to turn those pressures into smarter policy, stronger communities and economic opportunity.

Good morning, NYC!
Climate Week is a powerful reminder that the real work happens where policy, business, technology, and community come together.
This week, I’ll be joining conversations on clean-energy competitiveness, AI and data centers, grid modernization, climate finance, water, infrastructure, and the growing role of states and cities in delivering practical solutions.
I’m bringing a simple Wisconsin perspective to New York:
Climate action works best when it lowers costs, strengthens reliability, creates jobs, and delivers visible benefits for people and communities.
That’s the conversation I’m looking forward to advancing all week.

Who pays, who benefits, and who bears the risk?
That should be at the center of Wisconsin’s energy decisions.
In my latest public comment to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, I argue that extraordinary new electricity demand should not translate into extraordinary new financial risk for existing families, farmers, manufacturers and small businesses.
My message is simple:
Affordability should be the North Star.

Wisconsin Spotlighted at ASBN "Businesses United in Leading Democracy" (BUILD) Field Briefing
Grateful to represent @weigogreener, a state affiliate of the @theASBN at ASBN’s recent BUILD Field Briefing.
I shared a Wisconsin State Spotlight on data centers, energy affordability, reliability, and economic growth, along with lessons from placing op-eds and turning policy issues into stories people can relate to.
A few takeaways:
Affordability should be the North Star.
Who pays, who benefits, and who bears the risk?
Reliability requires planning, not assumptions.
Policy arguments matter. Stories make those arguments real.
Proud to have WEI helping bring Wisconsin perspectives into ASBN’s national network.

Summer’s Last Hurrah
A great way to close out summer with colleagues and friends in Chicago.
We started the day at the @ObamaFoundation Presidential Center & Museum, exploring the campus and reflecting on leadership, civic engagement, and the idea that democracy is strongest when we participate in it and protect it.
Then it was on to one of baseball’s great traditions, @Brewers vs. Cubs at Wrigley Field, for a perfect late-summer evening at the ballpark. We got to watch “The Miz,” Jacob Misiorowski, take the mound, and the Brewers capped off the night with an entertaining win.
A memorable day of history, conversation, friendship, great baseball, and a little friendly Wisconsin-Illinois rivalry.
Summer’s last hurrah, Chicago style.
