UPDATES: After further deliberations, or rather confusions, once again Funadhoo MP Mohamed Mamdhooh proposed:
1. Additional allowance for Parliament Speaker: 22,000. Increasing speakers salary to 95,000.
2. Increase ministers’ drivers’ car fuel allowance from 1,000 to 2,000
3. Ministers’ drivers’ basic salary to: 12,000
4. Additional living allowance for ministers’ drivers: 3,000
That brings a minister’s driver’s total monthly package to MVR 17,000. It used to be some 6000.

PNC is heading towards losing whatever little legitimacy it has left over these two individuals.
And the worst part for PNC? Neither of these two was part of PPM/PNC’s political struggle during the five years of MDP rule. They weren’t out there fighting alongside when PPM/PNC members were struggling.
And when PNC finds itself back in opposition for the next five years, these two will not be anywhere around.
Those who fought to bring PNC to power will end up paying the political price for two individuals who neither fought to bring them into government nor will stand with them when they lose it.
