That's not terrifying at all
pgroles v0.12.0 is out. PostgreSQL access policy in YAML, reviewable SQL, and a Kubernetes operator.
This release makes plans easier to read and the operator easier to monitor.
pgroles is open source - contributions welcome from the #postgresql community.

It's Astra time! Expecting to improve and release new versions of pgroles, awa and gatehouse today. But first 🥞 for the kids
GRANT SELECT ON app.orders TO alice;
It will just be for the incident... Next week nobody remembers. This is how PostgreSQL access seems to go: one grant at a time. Here’s what it looks like when the policy lives in git instead. 🧵
It converges, it doesn’t fight you: a second plan after apply is: No changes needed. Run it in CI, run it as a Kubernetes operator, or run the cli by hand. Its all the same Rust powered diff engine

I worked with my wife @bequinning to conduct a third-party assessment of the parenting behavior observed during the incident. She will be sharing a report of her findings:

If you are a mathematician, then you may want to make sure you are sitting down before reading further.
Very satisfying today watching pgroles connect to a brand new Google Cloud SQL db via WIF and create a full hierarchy of roles with narrow grants.
Had claude run benchmarking for 30+ hours autonomously this weekend - it updated a single github issue with progress after each phase. github.com/hardbyte/postgres…
Thought I should compare my job scheduler performance with other postgresql based job queue systems including another very new option based on Skypes PgQue from @samokhvalov

What is Awa? A Postgres-native job queue for Rust and Python.
Producers insert jobs in their own transaction. The Rust runtime owns dispatch, leases, and recovery. Python uses the same runtime via PyO3.
Awa essentially has 3 separate "planes" of operation.
The queue plane is append-only: ready, deferred, terminal, dead-letter. The execution plane holds the short-lived state of each running attempt. The control plane coordinates rotation and prune.
