One for you @UKLabour and @RachelReevesMP. These duty bands are unworkable. And they won’t generate any more revenue. Just “Brexit benefit” red tape. Is the @BBCr4today programme aware of this? Lots of stuff about farmers. Nothing about the wine and hospitality businesses.
Sunak’s wine legacy.
The highest rates of duty on wine in Europe, with 64 bands of duty (to replace just 2!) from 1 Feb 2025.
Will the next government do the right thing - it’s a simple move - and help businesses and consumers?

Nothing to see here, just two shameless morons enjoying a lovely day out looting. Best not share in case they get caught and sent to prison.

Tom Swarbrick: Do you worry you might get a knock on the door from the police?
Nigel Farage: No
TS: For suggesting the police are lying without any evidence.
Farage really didn't like that.

BREAKING: Startling new poll reveals what most Americans really think about what Donald Trump will do after the 2024 election — and if they're right it should chill us all to the bone.
According to a new bombshell poll from CNN, 74% of Americans think that Trump will simply refuse to concede if he loses the election.
For comparison, only 55% of Americans in August 2020 believed that he would not concede, a number that jumped to 58% in October of that year.
In other words, on some level this country is now expecting another insurrection attempt if Joe Biden wins reelection.
And even if he doesn't launch another violent attempt to overthrow our democracy, another refusal to concede will do deep, lasting damage to the American people's faith in their government. Trump is selfish to the core and doesn't care what he wrecks in his pursuit of power.
For reference, only 23% of Americans believe that President Biden will not concede if he loses this election.
It falls to every patriotic American to ensure that Biden emerges victorious — and that Trump is thrown in prison if he attempts another coup.
Please retweet and ❤️ if you think that Trump will not concede if he loses in 2024 — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. If you look at the leaflet distributed to households before the 2016 referendum with 2024 eyes, you'll see it was remarkably accurate.
No prediction is perfect. But it didn't get anything major wrong, and it got all the key stuff right.

Last month, @insidehousing reported on our survey showing only 21.8% of leaseholders in dangerous blocks have seen remediation work start.
Most remain physically, mentally & financially trapped.
@MichaelGove more has to be done.
