3 months, Dad. This is a favorite photo. Your backwards hat, grappa eyes & arm around me. I miss so much about you, but this most. The goofy times & way you smiled so big. I try to smile every day but sometimes I cry more than I’d like. Miss you so much & love seeing you happy.

Donating Dad’s equipment felt bittersweet & final. We developed hate for the metal cords tubes & wheels that came with ALS. Seeing how much was stolen from Dad’s body was heavy. Grateful he’s no longer fighting but hate there are people needing this in their unfair fight of #ALS

Tonight, surrounded by family and loved ones, Dad went home to heaven. His peaceful journey was preceded by a tenacious fight against ALS. His love, his heart, his soul, will live on forever. We love you, Dad. Always have. Always will. Safe travels to heaven, Dad. Love you 🤍

This is me watching my 71 year old father on a baby monitor. This is me sleeping with one eye open because #ALS loves to fight at 2am. This is me listening for the BiPap hum and looking for his chest rising. This is our pain. This is our hell. #endALS #fuckALS

I remember the day we got adaptive utensils. Then slip on shoes. A grab bar. A shower chair. BiPap. Suction machine. Cough assist. Rollator. Transfer chair. Stair lift. Trilogy. Tobii. Oxygen tank. Bidet. Power wheel chair. Commode. Now, a lift I’ll love to hate #ENDALS #FUCKALS

In a year, this is what #ALS does. 2022 versus 2021… a year of reasons to be grateful. Hug your loved ones and live in the moment. Time can be a beautiful thief. I’m thankful for a lot except for what #als has done. 🤍

Some nights call for a heavy pour, a cozy candle, and some deep reading. We made the leap today to bring in #hospice & we hope comfort follows. Dad deserves the best; not the #ALS beast. Praying a little harder tonight for his peace, for our village, and to #ENDALS
