I’m generally contrarian, so I feel qualified to say: don’t be a contrarian. Elevate others or just stfu.

Don't get fooled by the merchants of complexity, it's quite simple to build a decent software factory nowadays and it doesn't require a 2 page workflow chart.

The biggest, and stupidest, myth in European politics, particularly popular in France, is that Europe suffers the consequences of "austerity" and "neoliberalism". In the biggest 5 countries in Europe, more than half of the population makes its income from the state, less than half from the private sector. This is what makes the problem of reducing the welfare state so impossible: more than half of the voters are net recipients. No surprise that Italy's budget has not been balanced in 100 years, France's in 50 years (ooh la la, l'austérité!!): -France: 30 million from the state versus 21m private sector workers. State spending is 57% of GDP, taxes more than half the economy. The budget hasn't been balanced in the lifetime of most French (since 1974). - Germany: 35 million adults from the state, versus 34 million from the private sector. 10% of the population is registered as severely disabled. Public spending is over half of GDP. Germany has had a continuous budget deficit since 2019. -Italy: 23 million from the state, versus 20.5 million private-sector workers. Public spending is 51% of GDP. Italy has had a budget deficit every year since 1925, for 100 years. - Spain more people get their income from the state since 2024: 18.21 million from the public sector versus 17.9 million people working in the private sector. Since 2025, Spain also had more government employees than self-employed workers (autónomos) for the first time in history. State spending is at 45%, budget has not been balanced since 2007. - UK: 54% of households now receive more in state benefits than they pay in taxes. State spending is 44.5% of GDP, taxes (40%) are at their highest since 1950, the budget hasn't been balanced since 2001, and 1 in 5 new cars is paid by the government through a bizarre state disability scheme (Motability).

37,2. Via: tiktok.com/@Ansenjeo

Buen thread

People don't get it. The SaaSpocalypse isn’t a demand problem. It’s a supply shock. You now have the potential for 10x more people selling the same software to the same buyers, at increasingly competitive prices. SaaS isn’t dead. But margins will compress, and valuations will fall. Why do you think everyone is rushing to rebrand as an AI company?
let me tell you why saas is not dead and how deep in the rabbit hole we are on x ⬖ my wife is technical enough, worked as QA before, understands the concepts of cloud, hosting, frontend vs backend, etc etc. ⬖ she has 2 subs to copen ai and claude, uses them on desktop and on mobile ⬖ she has heard me rambling about ai for 4 years non stop and knows most terms ⬖ she has vibed a few websites for fun and is a creative person overall so i see she subscribed (recurring lol) to a "learn driving tests" app i asked her wtf why dont u vibe yourself one?? it will be even better, more visual, tailored to you, etc etc. she was like "uhm but why, someone already put all the effort and i just wanna be done with my driving tests" now think about the people who have NONE OF THE bulletpoints above lmfao 💀 put a price tag and just put the saas in the bag lil bro no one is vibecoding shit

Or… the product could just be bad and that’s it?
Character[.]ai financials: - $13.8m on compute a month, then $10m a month - bringing in $2.8m in subscriptions, sometimes less than $1m - revenue from all sources $5.3m a month Its bankruptcy shows the economics of AI don't work: 404media.co/character-ais-ba…

The SansonBench is live
I almost dropped Jev for OpenAI's Decisions API. It can see screenshots now, so it felt like an easy call. 168 test runs later, I'm glad I checked. For real-life cases, Jev is still faster and cheaper. Here's all the results (🧵 1/5)

💯
I feel envious of all you people who work on simple and boring enough problems that you think AI is better than you at architecture I WISH it was better than me at making architecture decisions man but it’s just plain dumb at that stuff
