A few weeks ago, Tyga came into our care after his family moved to the U.S. from Bolivia. Sadly the family got deported back and the local police brought Tyga to us. We couldn't figure out exactly what species he was — he looked unlike any cat we'd ever seen.
It wasn't until yesterday when the new Leopardus tilcayo discovery was published where we saw the resemblance. After noticing the resemblance, we reached out to Bolivian biologist Paola Nogales-Ascarrunz with photos and videos of Tyga.
Further testing confirms Tyga as Leopardus tilcayo — making him the first known individual of the newly described species in the United States.
Tyga will remain under our care for now and will not be up for adoption.

These used to be the kind of scenes you saw in videos from Putin's Russia, now shockingly regular in Western democracies - all, bizarrely, to punish criticism of a random country in the Middle East.
This was in Amsterdam. All she said was "Free Palestine" at a pro-Israel rally. She was arrested within a second.
I have seen hundreds of videos of Palestinian protests being disrupted by pro-Israeli activists. Not once have I seen them be arrested for simply shouting a slogan.
What is it about these two words, "Free Palestine," that terrify so many in the West? The echo of complicity?

BREAKING: The US "almost started a war" against China, nearly launching an operation against a Chinese ship in the Middle East this spring, in the midst of the Iran war, after an AI-generated intelligence report falsely identified the vessel as carrying nuclear weapons components, with armed US personnel preparing to board and military aircraft already in the air before officials found the report had been produced with a chatbot, per CNN.
A special operations command analyst had used a chatbot to fuse open-source material with classified signals intelligence, then used AI again to package the result into a standard intelligence report and circulated it across the US military.
