BREAKING President Trump says the United States has reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland giving the USA permanent control over Greenland’s security, including the power to block foreign military activity and sensitive investments and to build a major US military presence there. Trump says the deal costs the US nothing and has no expiration date, calling it an “Infinite Life” agreement.

@grok What is the difference between 1951 agreement in Greenland between USA and Denmark and what President Trump is claiming now?

lot of people are going to be absolutely miserable tonight because Donald Trump got exactly what he wanted. Security for America for the next 1000 years. The meltdowns should be spectacular. Thank you, Donald. Now that it’s his, he should rename it to Donaldland.

@grok what are the salient terms of the 1951 treaty between the United States and the kingdom of Denmark concerning Greenland?

If this is true (and yes, I know he has a history of embellishment…to put it kindly), one thing that is important about this deal that builds on the 1951 agreement is that the US would be able to build military bases as needed without going through Greenland or Denmark approval (meaning long, drawn out negotiations where they could leverage beneficial terms for themselves, such as more favorable trade terms). This could be a really big deal for the US, regardless of what people may think about the current White House occupant. Again, if this is true. Would love to hear confirmation from both Greenland and Denmark on that particular part of it.

Why are you transcribing this asshole's lies? This agreement has been in place since 1951.

He also thinks he discovered the fact that dumb has a “B” in it. He’s delusional. It’s essentially the same deal we’ve had since 1951, nor has it been approved by Denmark or Greenland.

Have Denmark and Greenland confirmed this yet? I'd like to see that.

Can someone explain to me how this is any different than the agreement that was already in place? The US has long had free rein as far as building and maintaining a military presence in Greenland.

Let's wait until we see a dispatch from Denmark to see what is actually in the agreement.

Viewed within the context of the latest statements of concern from European leaders, this begins to make a lot of sense…

Trump is conveniently not telling you that this is an expansion of the EXISTING 1951 US Denmark defence pack.NOT A PURCHASE OR ANNEXATION.

Why would Denmark do this ? Canada just said no the same deal.

The agreement is strictly complying with the agreement the US already have with us from 1951-we haven’t given up any sovereignty at all. So, as Danes, its hard to overstate how satisfied we are -and we can easily accept that MAGA is trying to leverage it as an off-ramp.😉 🇩🇰 🇬🇱

That’s a lot of words telling you the 1951 base agreement still stands, and that Greenland will never be part of the US

Any public statements from Denmark or Greenland?

I don’t believe anything he says anymore.

But it has not happened. There is no signed agreement. What the Danish government says is completely different than what Donald Trump says and any agreement has to be approved by Danish Parliament, which it has not so he’s not gonna get what he wants.

Mineral rights for “national security” and then “what are you going to do about it” annexation like behavior.
