I had the honour to host a training day of @BASFAgro 🇭🇺 on #RegenAG for their advisors. Dr. Endre Dobos highlighted the necessity of a paradigm shift in farming. Monoliths from my field and a neighbour’s are now part of the collection to demonstrate the impact of tillage systems.
Beautiful soil monolith collection from all over the Carpatian basin and other soils. Nice stories from curator and soil geographer Dr Endre Dobos of the University of #Miskolc, #Hungary. The event was a symposium on soil literacy and celebration of the World Soil of the Year.

💥 SFI26 funding was exhausted in six hours — and NFU says farmers cannot be split into scheme “haves” and “have nots” At Labour's Conference, the union called for SFI27 to open early in 2027, while demanding answers over a £210m funding gap READ MORE: farminguk.com/news/sfi-haves…

We were part of the SFI pilot, carefully helping to design the scheme. Never did any of the farmers involved imagine it would turn into a fastest fingers on the keyboard first only scheme. The simple fact is we need more money to support sustainable farming in England.

When the first apple tree looked skyward and wished for its own star to cherish, the orchard fairy promised one if it worked hard. The tree toiled all year, and in #autumn was rewarded with stars at the heart of its fruit, to cradle the seeds of future trees. #FolkloreThursday

You don’t even need a garden. This has been picked, at various times, from hedgerows within the city of Southampton.

Exactly what about this document helps me as a farmer to invest and plan with any confidence? I can’t find a single part of it that makes me think that. It contains no actions to address fundamentals and no support to remotely match that lost in the last 5 years

European swallows are desperate for nesting sites. Their favorite traditional stables & barns are disappearing. This nest is on top of a lamp in an ‘arcade’ of a restaurant in my village. The owners didn’t chase them away…they moved the table beneath! #Coexistence with #wildlife
