Why cannot more #arablefarmland look this way? If it did, we certainly wouldn't face a #farmland #biodiversity crisis. Seen near Arundel, West Sussex, England.

Myth or fact? 'The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world'. This🧵explains how a scientic finding is wrongly used to lament the UK's biodiversity crisis, especially on farmland. bbc.co.uk/newsround/58863097

Therefore, let's continue to research practical solutions that help reverse the decline of biodiversity, include those who manage the land & lobby for policies to pay for it. But let's do it in a civilised way, not a populist one, because only the former will ever be successful.

I had the honour to host a training day of @BASFAgro 🇭🇺 on #RegenAG for their advisors. Dr. Endre Dobos highlighted the necessity of a paradigm shift in farming. Monoliths from my field and a neighbour’s are now part of the collection to demonstrate the impact of tillage systems.
Beautiful soil monolith collection from all over the Carpatian basin and other soils. Nice stories from curator and soil geographer Dr Endre Dobos of the University of #Miskolc, #Hungary. The event was a symposium on soil literacy and celebration of the World Soil of the Year.

I have spent over 25 years of my professional career to research and demonstrate how to reverse the decline of #farmlandbirds. We know how to do it, but are lacking suitable policies to pay for it. theguardian.com/environment/…

My colleague @JoeWStanley put into words what I was pointing at in my tweet above. gwct.org.uk/blogs/news/2026/…
