I think I am addicted to sitting out in my garden on a still autumn night listening to the hedgehogs and frogs go about their business will I relax after a busy week of Conservation!
Excellent afternoon spent with @BrecksNature discussing a range of conservation management & species recovery plans & ideas. Chalk grasslands looking surprisingly well given the drought and clouded yellows putting on a good show as well as a lovely Vestal moth (below).
Mid-summer beauty from my camera reel. So many of my 'southern' friends see these all the time and think nothing of it. To us Norfolk types they remain a dream.........
Aside from the masses of underwings of varying sorts it was a Rustic start to the day today. Vine's, Clancy's and Square Spot Rustic greeted me.@norfolkmoths @BC_Norfolk
Clouded Yellows. A glorious but occasional treat in a late Norfolk/Suffolk summer. Almost impossible to capture as they just don't sit still!! So I gave up on that and went for an action shot...... 🖤🧡💛🧡💛🧡🖤

We got up. We walked 23 miles. We hurt. 82 miles since Friday leaving us with a mere 18 to do tomorrow to complete the challenge!! Dodged the worst of the weather & have seen a fantastic amount of wildlife today. Including one of my favourite spiders!!! justgiving.com/page/swannyan…

Day 1 done of our 100mile Epic Challenge for @alzheimerssoc . A wonderful route apart from the bit where I fell through a footbridge & nearly snapped a leg!! Thanks to my 'equestrian thighs' however it stopped at a graze and a bruise!!

Stunted yet abundant! Corn Marigold, Prickly Poppy, Broad-fruited Cornsalad, Small flowered Catchfly. All far smaller than usual but clinging on providing much needed nectar and pollen for insects braving the heat this summer. #formerlyknownasweeds #FarmlandWildlife #CAB11
