Not even summer yet and already a week after sticky tar day. Is it global warming, or road works are meant to survive six months only now.
Today is my dad's birthday, the 1st since he passed. I'm sad I can't be with family this w/end, and as life is too busy I can't even enjoy his favourite treats today as a remembrance. So if you get the chance to eat lolly cake, or great quality licorice today, have a bite for me!
Never had to queue for more than 2 minutes voting before. Is this a sign of greater voter turnout, or just a lack of voting places in town? Apparently this queue is shorter than the other place, I hate to think!
FML... home and contents insurance is 140% what it was last year.
And have to refix part of the mortgage from 2% to today's rates 😭
I guess new shoes are a few more months away now- this second lot of blutack better hold out!
First day back at the office in a long long time. Not in a people mood so squirreled away in the quiet zone. Grabbed some seedlings from the koha table to brighten up my desk for the day and fill my belly with zucchini another day! Grateful that I work in a place like this.
Received a spreadsheet where someone has a table that's not set as a table, and used conditional formatting to shade alternate rows. My eye is twitching like mad.
Exhausted from half a day at the office. Still struggling to answer the questions the concerned and/or tea gatherers have, when I don't know the answers myself. Sucks being in this no man's land between finding out a sibling is dead and finding out the when and why.
Was hanging out the laundry and suddenly realised why when playing the Sims they'd take like an hour to pee, or three hours to bathe. They were all suffering chronic fatigue likely from the endless to do list forced on them by others. At least I've no pictures of the tragic clown
Between travelling Friday and back today, we have seen more road cones one way between the Matakana turnoff and the bottom of the Dome Valley than the rest of SH1 Warkworth to Foxton, return.
Shook - just discovered (probably very late to the party) that Book Depository is closing. My bookshelf is sad, though my wallet is probably breathing a sigh of relief.
Ideas please on what an international sibling unable to get home can do to help with "things" after our father passed away this morning? I'm struggling to figure out things I can do and I'm here, but they need to feel less 'useless'. TIA.
So for lunch I succumbed to a linoleum sandwich. Shame. Had to call a mate over for assistance as I've been solo living with the pup this week. Spent the afternoon at the urgent care clinic while more deserving cases were triaged before me resulting in "no radiology today maam...
