Deutsche Bank actively aided the EXPROPRIATION of Jewish businesses and HELPED HITLER consolidate control over Germany’s neighbors between 1933 and 1945. Today, Deutsche Bank is REFUSING to stop doing business with Russia. Who else thinks Deutsche Bank should be sanctioned? ✋

Based on my observation of engineering managers, one of their core skills is the ability to consume lunch in the interstitial times between wall-to-wall meetings.

Minimum wage across our borders: NY $13.20/hr + annual indexing NJ $13/hr + path to $15 OH $9.30/hr + annual indexing WV $8.75/hr MD $12.50/hr + path to $15 DE $10.50/hr + path to $15 Pennsylvania: $7.25/hr — this is insulting. Workers deserve better. Let's #RaiseTheWage.

I rarely saw cover letters that includes anything the accompanying resume doesn’t. I mostly ignore them, and I specifically tell anyone who talks to me prior to submitting a resume not to include a cover letter.

PS To all officials and media: STOP CALLING PUTIN 'PRESIDENT'! He's a dictator. Words have power. He does not deserve a democratic title. Fuck your style guide. "Russian dictator Vladimir Putin".

Intelligence acquired since the beginning of the Russian military operation over Ukraine has shown an immense lack of logistic support, making this war one of the most unique in 2022 when it comes to surveillance. A thread 👇🧵

People are asking me why I endorsed the use of "We're Not Gonna Take It" for the Ukrainian people and did not for the anti-maskers. Well, one use is for a righteous battle against oppression; the other is a infantile feet stomping against an inconvenience.

Trump took state secrets. He put your security at risk. Now, responsible media must ask every @housegop member if they are OK with that. If they don’t answer, THEY ARE.
BREAKING: The 15 boxes of White House records stored at former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence included classified national security information, the national archives says. The agency said it has referred the matter to the Justice Department. apne.ws/2ksJWNA

Short args when running commands directly, long args for any kind of scripting. Fits in with the “write once, read many” philosophy of programming
I feel like command line shorthands shouldn't be used in automated scripts because it doesn't save any time and only serves to hurt readability.

recruiters: "I am impressed by your work at AWS, great fit for us. wanna hear about an opportunity?" me: "whats the interview process like?" them:"take home 2h assessment, 2 phone screen, 5 on-site, cultural fit, blood work and a 42k marathon with the team"

I really wish we stopped asking for Cover Letters with applications. People are drained enough as is on a job search. All a Cover Letter does is appeals to the ego of the person/company reading it. Admit it, I'm right.
