If I give the agent a heap of domain context, including a clearly defined writing style, then I draft something and ask for 10 alternative wordings, then ask for more variants of the best one and pick my favourite, it feels unfair to say it’s AI-written. That was a team effort.

I think I’m at the “slop issues and slop PRs might be good actually” phase of AI psychosis. The a-ha moment was realising we just need better systems of summarisation on top for the human reviewers. Agents want all the detail, it’s just hard for us humans. (I might be wrong)

Back when I worked on Braid Design System + Playroom, I spent so much energy trying to get designers to work in JSX when their designs were just a composition of existing patterns. Getting non-devs coding was always an uphill battle though. This must be so much easier now.

A couple years ago I designed the styling system for React Spectrum. It's inspired by StyleX and Vanilla Extract's Sprinkles, and built on bundler macros. • Defaults to design tokens (type-safe with autocomplete), with escape hatches for arbitrary values. • Generates atomic CSS at build time • Supports conditions like variants and states without specificity issues. • Nested conditions • Supports creating reusable utilities • Merges styles deterministically • Restrict allowed component style overrides react-spectrum.adobe.com/sty…

It’s interesting seeing some high profile tweets talking about moving from Tailwind to StyleX due to being supposedly better for agents. It gives me hope that, as the dust settles on AI usage patterns, we’re not simply locked into whichever tools are currently most popular.

Remix's asset server is so cool. On the fly: - TS/JS compiling - CSS processing - minification and fingerprinted URLs - dependency preloads - custom JS and file transforms - HMR I really need @markdalgleish to give a talk or something, I'm increasingly becoming unbundled pilled

Heads up, the next @remix_run beta will have `import.meta.​hot` style HMR for both browser and server code. Plus HMR transforms for Remix UI components for server and browser, and automatic updating of HTML from the server on file change in development. 💿⚡️🚀
