I wrote some stuff about defence innovation in Ukraine, after years as an observer both from afar and close to the soldiers on the ground in Ukraine.
RT and shares are highly appreciated 💛💙
Our latest piece at Tochnyi, by @eDrotning, looks at the gap between Ukraine’s battlefield innovation ecosystem and Western defence industry habits.
This @7corpsDSHV interview captures 'the problem and the road to succeeding' in Ukraine remarkably well.

As major battles unfold in Donbas, @WarUnitObserver examines the restructuring and reinforcement of what are often called the “fortress cities.”
Focusing on developments since summer 2026, the thread examines Ukrainian forces' movements 🇺🇦 across the region.
Read the thread below ⬇️
🇺🇦Ukrainian reinforcements deploy to the “fortress cities”
As the final battles for Donbas seem to be looming on the horizon, the new 🇺🇦command team led by Maj. Gen. Mykhailo Drapatyi might be drastically restructuring the frontline in the region.
Following Syrskyi’s replacement in the summer, a decision was made to split the area of operations in Donetsk oblast between two new force groupings:
🔵 UV Center, under Brig. Gen. Biletskyi, in charge of the sector between Borova (Kharkiv oblast) and Druzhkivka
🔵UV Azov, under Brig. Gen. Prokopenko, in charge of the sector between Druzhkivka and Novopavlivka (Dnipropetrovsk oblast)
The defense of Donbas, and more specifically of its fortress belt, now rests on these two command bodies.
UV Center is entrusted with the larger cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, while UV Azov guards its right flank on the Pokrovsk-Dobropillya axis of advance.
The crucial importance this sector holds was highlighted in August 2025, when Russian forces attempted to break through northeast of Dobropillya.
Their maximalist objective was the city of Barvinkove, a key logistical hub for the defense of the fortress cities.
The Main Supply Routes (MSRs) connecting Dnipro to Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and Izyum all pass through Barvinkove.
For the Ukrainians, the loss of Barvinkove would put the fortress belt at risk of encirclement.
For the Russians, occupying the fortress belt would complete the capture of Donbas.

The St. Petersburg Ozon logistics hub has been targeted by a Ukrainian 🇺🇦 strike. We updated our infographic thanks to Stanimir (@delfoo)
Ozon is Russia’s 🇷🇺 second-largest online marketplace. According to Vertska, in 2025-2026, 60 to 70% of aftermarket gear for Russian soldiers was bought via Russian online marketplaces

For the past three weeks, Russian attacks on the civilian population have markedly increased, causing us to fall behind in our Daily Updates.
Russian attacks have caused absolute carnage across Ukraine, killing at least 267 and wounding 1606 civilians between 23 Sept-13 Oct.
Victims' ages ranged from just 1.5 months to 98-years-old. Among the civilian casualties were at least 36 first responders, wounded or killed in the line of duty.

I’ve been reading the headlines about Ukraine lately, and honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach.
I don’t understand where all this hate toward Ukrainians is coming from. Ukrainians are simply trying to survive.
I’m not someone watching this war through the news. I live in Ukraine. I hear and feel the airstrikes. I wake up not knowing if I’ll have electricity or water. I can’t really plan tomorrow because tomorrow depends on what russia decides to launch overnight.
And it’s not even about having a normal life anymore. It’s about going to a grocery store, stopping for gas, driving somewhere, and having that thought in the back of your mind: what if a drone or missile hits here?
This is our reality. Every single day.
People are exhausted. Families are exhausted. Soldiers are exhausted. And somehow, somewhere along the way, part of society decided that the people trying to survive an invasion are the ones who should be blamed.
How did we get here?
Ukrainians didn’t ask for this war. We didn’t ask to live like this. We just want to live.
And I genuinely cannot understand when that became something to hate us for.

Ukraine is out of Patriot interceptors. Trump is waiving sanctions on Russia to enrich its war machine and blaming Zelenskyy for not wanting to forfeit sovereign territory to an occupation regime of child thieves and rapists. The White House decided to toy with Ukrainian lives this week by throttling satellite internet for a day, just to show an embattled ally who’s boss. If the U.S. is aligning with Russia, then no — Ukraine doesn’t have to play it decorously any longer. This isn’t a fucking cotillion. It’s war. And if Europe doesn’t want to treat it as such, and stand up to the Nero in Washington, then MAGA’s point about NATO and the EU is amply demonstrated. Enough is enough.

Kherson Weekly: 05-11 October 2026
This Week: 39 Civilian Casualties from Russian Aggression — 4 Killed, 35 Wounded
Civilian casualties continue to be recorded at relatively low levels this week, keeping with the emerging pattern of the past three weeks. Drones still make up the vast majority of civilian casualties, with 2 killed and 25 wounded this week in Kherson Oblast.
There was slight increase in Russian drone attacks — roughly 400 more than the previous week, but Ukrainian C-UAS operations managed to intercepted around 93% of attacks/UAVs.
While Ukrainian heavy quadcopter and hexacopter teams continue their humanitarian airlift in Oleshky, another airlift is being conducted by the 11th National Guard Brigade's “Bolharychi” UAV detachment in the liberated city of Beryslav.
Beryslav has been almost unreachable for local volunteers since Winter 2026 and with 300 people still in the city, the humanitarian situation has deteriorated.
Using heavy multi-rotor UAVs, over 2500 kilos of humanitarian aid were successfully delivered to the city by the 11th Brigade over the course of 08-10 October. Humanitarian airlift missions are still being conducted in Beryslav as of writing.

EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

Engineering equipment is saving lives, so please consider donating to @Teoyaomiquu fundraiser, as I have just done!
Hello everyone. Today I’m starting another fundraiser to get engineering equipment to Ukraine, and I’m asking for your help by sharing, donating, and liking this post. Even if you can’t donate, sharing it genuinely makes a difference.
Plase watch the video with their CV90 Crew explaining the importance of this equipment.
The donation link is in the comments below.
A good friend of mine from the 21st Mechanized Brigade of the UAF has been working on improving the survivability and effectiveness of the 🇸🇪 CV90 IFVs and, most importantly, the soldiers inside them.
He recently reached out to me asking for help getting engineering equipment for his brigade.
This is one of those things that doesn’t look as dramatic as drones, armored vehicles, or weapons, but it directly saves lives.
A properly dug fighting position, trench, vehicle shelter, or reinforced position can be the difference between soldiers surviving an artillery or drone attack and not coming home.
Unfortunately, because of bureaucracy and often simple neglect by higher command, excavation equipment remains critically overlooked. It is one of the most obvious low-hanging fruits on the battlefield: relatively inexpensive machinery that can save soldiers’ lives and protect multimillion-dollar equipment.
The brigade already has several excavators, but they are in critically bad condition. We are already working on getting those repaired. But even if every one of them were operational, it still wouldn’t be enough for the brigade’s needs.
Their full request is for 3 excavators, transportation for them, a crane, and pickup trucks.
The total cost would be around $240,000.
I wish I could say we can raise all of it, but with the current level of donations, I don’t think that is realistic.
So we scaled the fundraiser down to $100,000.
That will allow us to purchase 3 excavators and a truck capable of transporting them.
It is still a huge amount of money. But these machines will not sit somewhere in storage. They will be working every day, digging positions, protecting vehicles, and giving Ukrainian soldiers a better chance of surviving.
And that is why I’m asking for your help.
If you can donate, even a small amount helps.
If you can’t donate, please like and repost this post. The more people who see it, the better chance we have of reaching this goal.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our previous fundraisers and continues supporting Ukraine.
Don't mind the snow in the video, they asked for this in march, and unfortunately I couldn't fundraiser until today. But we have been working on repairing their equipment and supplying some machines since June.
Donation link is in the 1st comment below.
