He was supposed to bid his farewell to his people a couple of weeks from now in the Paris Masters, which he eventually cancelled.

“This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to share.
Everyone knows how much Ukraine means to me. What I have rarely spoken about is what the war has done to me inside.
Last year, I told you I needed to step away from the court because I wasn't in the right emotional space. Today, I want to open up a little more. What you didn't see were the sleepless nights, the doubts, and the feeling of slowly losing myself.
Gaël saw all of it. He never let go of my hand. We fought through this together for a long time, with everything we had.
But some battles happen deep inside you, and no amount of love from someone else can win them for you.
With time, I came to understand that I need to find my way back to myself and that I cannot do that within our marriage. It is the hardest truth I have ever had to face and the hardest thing I have ever had to tell the person I love. Gaël listened. He has respected what I need with a strength and grace I will never forget.
Gael has loved me through my greatest joys and my darkest moments, and I have loved him with all my heart. Together, we built a beautiful life, and we were given the most precious gift of all, our daughter, Skai.
Skai will always come first. Our marriage is ending, but our family is not. We will always be her parents, side by side, at every step of her life.
Please know that there is no one to blame here. There are only two people who loved each other deeply and a story that is changing shape.

Macklemore decided that all the people relying on Ed's tour for jobs and a stable income were not important.
Ed said he couldnt let those people down as he'd feel responsible for them losing job opportunities.
Now the other 3rd rate musicians are dropping out because they also dont care about the people relying on them.
I find it annoying how the least normal people alive grandstand and moralize while throwing the people who rely on them for stability under the bus.

Ed Sheeran is one of the nicest guys in the business. He called Macklemore a friend, then refused to blow up an entire tour so hundreds of people behind the scenes wouldn’t lose their jobs. He didn’t pick a side. He thought about everyone else.
Macklemore played with other people’s money and someone who was kind to him. That’s the difference.

Cities far larger than Accra don’t run national clean-up exercises to manage solid waste. You have to address the root cause. A two-day cleaning exercise does nothing about waste generation and collection. Who dumps trash in drains when they know it will be collected every week or every other week?
You have to invest in waste transfer stations. Collection trucks deposit waste there before it is hauled to the final disposal site. That cuts travel time and stops waste being dumped or burned in communities.
You also need to invest in additional final disposal capacity. The Kpone landfill has been nearly full since 2019. Current analysis says it could be shut down in six months.
I’m not coming up with any new ideas. I’m regurgitating the appraisal document for the $350m Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development Project (GARID) project, which allocated US$42.2 million to solid waste management: transfer stations, capping old dumpsites, and extending disposal capacity.
We have the ideas and the funding to attack Accra’s floods from different angles. Why are we still looking at communal labour and the associated clown show to deal with waste management?

Ghana announced on Friday that its devastating flooding problem has been completely solved following a grueling two-day national cleanup exercise, with officials confirming that citizens will resume their traditional dumping practices first thing next week.
“This is the cleanest my gutter has been since 2019. I give it three days before it’s back to its natural habitat,” said a local resident while already eyeing a nearby pile of rubbish.
Zoomlion Ghana Limited, which deployed waste collection vehicles for the exercise, confirmed it stands ready to support future cleanups “whenever the government feels like declaring another national sanitation day.”
