This is alarming
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Interesting explanation 💡
I’m a retired brain surgeon and I wanna tell you why you feel like life is passing by. I just need one minute to explain this to you so hang in there. Repetitive daily routines stop the brain from recording clear detailed memories. When every day looks the same, your brain does not track time the same as a clock does. It tracks change. If nothing new happens then days, months, and years start to blur together. This is know as Time compression. When life lacks variety, your brain compresses past days together, making it feel like time is sped up. To stop feeling like life is passing you by, add new experiences to your life. Break routine habits, like changing your daily home routine, taking a different route to work, or trying a new hobby. Schedule small trips or plan new adventures so your days do not blend together. Practice mindfulness by staying fully focused on what you are doing right now and not trying to race off to the next task. Keep a journal and write down happy memories or memorable parts of the day before you go to sleep. Take deep, calm breaths when you feel anxious or rushed to return your focus to the moment. You can and you will retrain your brain to not feel like life is passing you by by following these few simple measures.

Pretty upgrade. Beel is MILES better than the old one. Now positions the company in the top-tier players Although I like domain hacks, I wd struggle to take a company seriously with a difficult domain like tokenize.it Nice move @tokenizeitHQ congrats @Qualitynames
🙏Grateful to God, Dadaji, Family, and Friends 🙏 BEEL.com sold for $88838 via @atomHQ Hold time : 7 years Tokenize.it is now Beel.com — a new brand focused on startup investments, cap tables, fundraising, employee participation and syndicates. It’s always rewarding to see a premium domain become the foundation of an ambitious company and brand. Congratulations to the Beel @tokenizeitHQ team on this new chapter. Wishing them tremendous success with Beel.com! Share a sale get a sale!🎉 initiative started by our very own dear @TonyNames

A small domain monetization lesson from this week: I own a LakeNameBoats․com domain for a popular destination, something similar to LakeTahoeBoats․com. Since pointing it to Afternic around May, it had generated quite a few leads, but almost all of them ended up marked “Confused” or “Stalled.” That was actually a valuable signal: The domain had natural type-in traffic, and those visitors clearly had commercial intent. Many of them probably mistook Afternic’s inquiry form for a boat rental or cruise booking form. So last Friday, I stopped forwarding the domain to Afternic and launched a simple website about the lake, boat rentals, and local tours. Less than three days later, it generated two GetYourGuide bookings and over $20 in commission. Oh yeah! 🚤 The lesson: when a domain keeps receiving strange “confused” leads, don’t simply ignore them. Even if the domain doesn’t sell, its natural traffic might be monetized in other ways, and potentially generate recurring income for years.

Inbound all the way, hold the leverage! 😎
The only reasons you should outbound is 1) If you are a Broker, that is your job 2) If you don't know how to buy good names and your names depend on selling. Let me explain no.2 Every hour you put in outbound can be put in buying effort. There are a million things you can do to buy getter baes Better names sell on their own and if you have a good ser of names you will sell faster than you can spend. Which is why none of the good domainers ever do outbound. And if you don't know how to good domains and always depend on outbound, it will give you a false sense of mild success and keep on doing it buying the same wrong names and never improving your buying skills Because if you know how to buy, the flywheel will start working at some point where it will start to payoff in magnitude more than your outbound effort. If it never does, you need to retrospect And lastly, if you have to depend on cold emailing calling to sell something, you'd be better off selling some other evergreen products/services. If you must outbound, set yourself a timeline, Domaining is the most passive business you will ever find and it is not that hard.

The domain industry isn't a zero-sum game. Sellers win with broader distribution. Buyers win with easier access to premium inventory. Partnerships like this are how the industry grows.

Jeff Bezos just bet $12 billion that you'll be able to support your whole family on a single paycheck again. his reasoning: AI will let companies make more stuff with fewer people and less money. and when something gets cheaper and easier to produce, and lots of companies can do it, they compete and the price drops. it's why a flatscreen TV that cost $2,000 a decade ago is $300 today. bezos thinks AI will do that to almost everything you buy. in his words, it raises "the basket of goods people can afford." your paycheck buys more without anyone handing you a raise. the problem: look at which prices have actually dropped. so far, AI has only made *digital* things cheap, like code and content. but the stuff that really eats your paycheck is *physical*. rent, cars, medicine. cheaper code doesn't lower your rent. that's exactly what bezos just spent $12B on. Prometheus, his new company, is building AI tools that help engineers design and manufacture physical products faster things like cars, machines, and medicine. the goal is to make building physical things as fast and cheap as writing software. if it works, 1 income starts covering what used to take 2. which is when his prediction kicks in: "perhaps one of those earners will choose not to be in the job market, so they'll become a one-earner household." or "some people who are working overtime will stop working overtime, because they don't want to." one paycheck covering a whole family again, like the 1950s.

Anthropic pays engineers $750,000+ a year to understand how LLMs work. Stanford just put a 2 hour lecture that covers 80% of it for FREE. Bookmark this. Give it 2 hours today. It might be the highest ROI thing you do this month:

It can be difficult sometimes to understand sales of some uncommon TLDs like .io .co .xyz Here is an interesting explanation:
I am TLD agnostic. This song summarizes how I feel about domains. youtube.com/watch?v=DwZVZ5qZ… Girls = TLDs

Please guys! ❌
Sam Altman said people saying “please” and “thank you” to ChatGPT costs OpenAI tens of millions of dollars a year in compute. 67% of Americans do it anyway. Run the math on why. A 2024 Waseda University study tested LLM responses across politeness levels in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Impolite prompts produced measurably worse outputs: more bias, more errors, more refusals. Moderate politeness consistently beat both extremes. The mechanism makes sense once you see it. Polite prompts pattern-match to higher-quality training data. When you write “Could you help me structure this analysis?”, the model pulls from professional, well-reasoned text. When you write “give me the answer,” it pulls from Reddit. Google DeepMind’s Murray Shanahan explained it simply: the model is role-playing a smart intern. Treat the intern like a colleague, you get colleague-quality work. Bark orders, you get minimum-viable compliance. Now look at the cost side. OpenAI handles over a billion queries daily. Each GPT-4 query uses roughly 2.9 watt-hours, ten times a Google search. But OpenAI just raised $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation. Tens of millions in politeness tokens is a rounding error on a rounding error. 67% of users do it anyway, and 55% of them say it’s because it’s “the right thing to do.” They’re maintaining a behavioral habit that governs every other interaction in their life. The parent who teaches their kid to say please to Alexa isn’t doing it for Alexa. They’re doing it because the alternative is raising someone who learns that being rude gets faster results. Telling 900 million people to stop saying thank you so OpenAI can save 0.01% of operating costs is the most engineer-brained optimization take on the internet. You’re training yourself to treat every interaction as a transaction. And that habit doesn’t stay in the chat window.
