Sometimes I accept offers just to hit some random personal milestone. Very tempted to accept two good offers now to hit another milestone
I hate offers that come late in the month as I like to track milestones by month
I am not overpaying as much as some of my mentors, maybe sometimes I do, and what I noticed is that as you move up the Quality Scale, you are not overpaying as much as you do lower down the scale
And there are also fewer idi0ts at the higher scale.
But the problem is the PC gaming like addiction to daily auctions at the lower scale
I mean I would just have to stop playing the stewpid auction games and I could pick up 2-3 high end gems every month
So help me god.

In 2005, Bob Innes paid $9.20 for RentAHitman.com.
He had a totally legit IT-security business in mind, where "hit" meant website traffic, and the plan was to offer network penetration testing and cybersecurity.
The business never launched, but the domain did its own thing anyway.
A few years later, Bob checked the inbox tied to the site and found hundreds of messages.
Some people wanted to FIND WORK AS HITMEN.
Others were asking, in all seriousness, to have someone killed.
The site was an obvious parody with fake testimonials, a fictional operator named Guido Fanelli, and nearly 18,000 "field operatives."
And, somehow, people still filled out the request form with their own information, details about their targets, and what they wanted done.
The first request Bob treated as a real threat came from a woman who wanted three relatives killed.
He asked if she wanted to be connected with a local field operative, and she said yes. The field operatives were law enforcement, and she was arrested.
Since then, Bob has kept forwarding credible requests to the authorities, and the site has contributed to arrests, prosecutions, and convictions.
He describes himself as accidentally becoming customer service for criminals, which might be the best job description on the internet.
It's also a wild example of how much a domain can say before anyone sees the website. In this case, people read three words, decided exactly what the business was, and acted on it.
Most companies spend years earning that kind of clarity. RentAHitman.com got it for $9.20… it just attracted the worst possible customers.

Before jumping to a new TLD, first try to get SLDs right
There still are a ton of good SLDs left and the kind of names you are trying to shill makes me bleed in the eye
The first thing any domainer should do is a scrape a top 5K words
And no don't beg for it.
Go build it and clean it up on your own
It's not difficult and the process of building it will teach you a lot.
Google the word, Type it into Linkedin, Type it on Expired domains and Dotdb
And build that lists instead of randomly picking names that comes to your mind or adding an "s" to a word.
Please. It is the bare minimum.

FYI, I paid less than what some people I know would
And this is more offer than some people I know would accept
That makes it worse.. The decision fatigue from it.
Paid 8K for name that could have gone for anywhee from 5K to 12k in an auction
If I take the lower end of wholesale, it is a decent offer
Anyway I have told the broker to see how much more he can squeeze out and than take a decision
This is not a .ai and that makes it slightly easier
Maybe I will take it
I am beginning to see a linear pattern as you buy more and more expensive names
The only problem being the LOW ROI offers which I guess is a good problem to have
I never buy names that have no provenance
My thing has been to pick up undervalued gems from well proven, well saturated niche and that has done me well.
If and when .si starts to get adopted mainstream, I will again pick up gems from Expired stream or wholesale and make a killing
But I still won't gamble in them now.
A lot more people will be hurt by overinvesting in an Unproven name than those who will feel a slight sour for missing the train.
Feel free to shill under this post. You might get lucky. But make sure to price them for wholesale otherwise you will be 📵
