Practising something as consequential as war... Nobody running, everyone only moving their body as fast as their brain can process information and make good decisions, no hype/juice, high focus
Let's keep headbutting each other and working through our skills at 100mph though 😏

To have coachability, you need coach ability.
We only want players to be "coachable" because it's easier on us and doesn't make us stretch or have any sort of intellectual agility.
For me, Dan's key point here is: "Take their viewpoint seriously."

Nice zoom this morning with the @SHUSportPhysAct S&C Coaching MSc delivery team. Reviewing the course & preparing it for next year. Some super brains in that pic and a great program. The only S&C MSc to include actual coaching within a module.

Food for thought. Our field committed to EDI yet:
• ‘sport science’ courses with no sociological/ actual social content
• ‘models’ of sport science that only include physiology, biomechanics & psychology
• coach Ed that thinks the ‘social corner’ is more psychology

Don't get frightened by not knowing things. 🧠
I have approximate answers, and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm not absolutely sure of anything. There are many things I don't know anything about. It doesn't frighten me.

New metric that determines an athlete's readiness to train:
"How are you feeling?"
Limitation: Requires talking to people.

Enjoying a zoom lecture from @DrGearity & @DrChrisSzedlak with a psychosocial focus & a wider lens for S&C coach development. Great to see the proposition that we are a profession aligned with coaching. Ties in to the @UKSCA and @cimspa professional standards.

Talent development pathways are an enriching and incredible experience for young people when they are done well, when they put the fact they are a child before the fact they are an athlete. @ManUtd do this incredibly well with staff that truly ‘get it’. This is wonderful ⭐️ – at Horsham, England
