The 20th anniversary Colloquium of the Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (CSRP) was an enjoyable and stimulating meeting over the weekend. Several alumni of @divinitysta made it back from New Zealand, Japan, and the UK. My thanks to all of them, particularly to @philosofemme who delivered a magnificent and challenging 2024 Religion and Politics Lecture and to Dr Abubaker, principal of the Al-Maktoum College Dundee who as usual supported our conversations. Next, the St Andrews International Conference on Japan, August 2025, co-organised with @JHMorris89 of Waseda University, Japan. @GlobalOfficeStA @univofstandrews

A weekend away with Somalilanders and Tibetans made possible the development of two new research projects that will start soon: “Church and State in Colombia 1966-2024” and “Religion, Politics and Stamps in Tibet 1912-1959.” By public demand, we return to Church and State, and stamps of Tibet because I love them and I want a Fellowship of the Royal Philatelic Society of London @The_RPSL cc @Annsabedoras @CTA_TibetdotNet Stamps of Somaliland to follow @Somaalilanders

I am grateful to @_shrutidixit for representing the Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (CSRP) @univofstandrews at Toppings StAndrews last night. The launching of Dan O’Connor’s selected writings on India showed the fortitude and strength of a person who lived in India for many years and loved India. At 91 years of age he was as commanding as the chaplain of St Stephen’s College, Delhi. The photographs bear Shruti Dixit’s copyright. Dan has been a dedicated research member of the CSRP for twenty years! Always an email with his comments after the seminar and his encouragement for our projects. Once I have read his book I shall review it for Political Theology. @divinitysta
