The discourse around the timeline changes for The Magician’s Nephew is really starting to piss me the fuck off It is coming from a place of book purity that to me is really just a resistance to change and interpretation. An adaptation can be faithful and still make changes

I WILL storm Brooklyn with Kelly. Fuck all of y’all, lmao. #IStandWithKelly

Why did nobody tell me how good Bugonia was Like there was a lot of buzz when it came out but not enough because I just now finally watched it and it’s one of my favorites from the last like… couple years lmao

I can’t stop laughing because for some reason in my head this clip makes her look kinda like Selma Blair to me
Jadis is using magic in the real world now... Narnia is going to make A LOT of changes to C.S. Lewis' work. Why even adapt it? Why not make something new?

This is actually hella troubling because you know they didn’t show that to a group of southern conservatives who were mad just to be mad, this group (most likely much more liberal) also actually hated it… lmao
Greta Gerwig’s $280M ā€˜NARNIA’ is reportedly raising concerns at Netflix after a test screening, with insiders calling the film ā€œawfulā€. The production has undergone reshoots amid those concerns. (theinsneider.com/p/greta-ger…)

You people forget they made three Narnia movies that were pretty good adaptations. No one watched them. They cancelled the rest. This movie looks cool. It looks fun. People will go see it. So far the criticism I've seen just make you all sound insane and precious in the most annoying ways: - The jungle should be a forest - The magician is too hot - The boy is too fat - The girl is too cute - Aslan is too cosmic I'm open to giving this thing a chance. It has to have a vibe if people are going to care care about The Magician's Nephew, a story no one knows anything about. It's fine to be critical and I wouldn't be shocked if this series abandons Christianity for some pagan occult slop. But It's also okay to make the story visually appealing enough to attract an audience who will then go and read the books. Stop being weird!
A Universe Begins. See how Narnia was created in Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, a film by Greta Gerwig - only in theaters February 12.

those are all mean girls who actually aren’t known to be nice either. whereas unproblematic queens like cher, celine dion, janet jackson, patti labelle, cyndi lauper, diana ross, chaka khan have all embraced her. 😘

Believe it or not, Narnia is the main story of the chronicle of Narnia. Not the four kids who are only really in 2 of 7 books.

I don’t think reading people is your thing 🄓
I was so prepared to think that these people were assholes to her. But that's clearly not the case. I'm pretty good at reading people and this guy doesn't come across like an asshole to me at all; he is reasonably angry and exasperated. I don't think people understand how internet harassment works. Family members being doxxed, not being able to even use your phone, having people come up to you physically, filming, and interrogating you. This should be disturbing to anyone.

If we WANT to truly make this political (because it’s becoming more and more apparent this is being divided amongst ideological lines in people’s reactions/responses) I couldn’t be happier I’m on Kelly’s side actually, lmao.

THANK YOU
I think that even if Kelly Clarkson had not outted that that the internet would’ve detective’d it eventually. Or the shop owners in their love for attention would’ve spoken up. Being mad at her for using ā€œher platformā€ while the owners are on tmz is silly

Nah I think it’s important to blast entitled rude men
Fwiw, Kelly Clarkson could just as easily thought to herself "well, that place sucks" and gone about her day with her millions of dollars and nationally syndicated TV show and being a incredibly well liked singer.

Well for one thing, she has the polar opposite reputation, built over literal decades, and for another, the ones trying to cast her as the victim are hipster millionaire Brooklyn hobby-shop magicians, so Occam's Razor kinda comes into play here.
watching grown adult men in their 40s just go full psycho parasocial stan over kelly clarkson is honestly pushing me to my limit rn. why is it so hard to imagine that kelly had a bad day and was an entitled weirdo using her twitter platform to attack a business?

Kelly Clarkson regularly forgets she’s as famous as she is, so the idea of her acting like an entitled celebrity makes me laugh

Nobody wants to talk about this and how it’s basically a pretentious white male pedophile apologist doubling down against American sweetheart Kelly Clarkson, lmao.

This Adam Rubin guy wrote the grooming children’s p*do book ā€œSecret Pizza Partyā€, among others. We should look into him more and talk about what his social consequences should be…

This is probably why the store hasn’t apologized either. Men treating women like shit but it’s the woman’s fault, lmao.
