After a productive week in Vienna @iaeaorg #iaeagc70 meeting and discussing key issues on behalf of our members @institute_world. Great to be back at work in London.
Whatever your politics, it is always sad when any movement or government changes its leader unexpectedly, and especially when that change is reactive.
Sadly, my experience of these moments is that far too much blame is often placed on the person departing, while far too many unrealistic expectations are placed on their successor.
This was always going to be what we call, in the transformation business, a particularly challenging role.
Sir @Keir_Starmer has been one of the finest public servants I've encountered. His decision at the CPS to empower the @IWFhotline (Internet Watch Foundation) with greater powers to proactively identify illegal online content fundamentally strengthened child protection in the UK and beyond - a legacy that will stand the test of time.
Very sadly, it is not an example many of his counterparts around the world have followed, leaving child protection hotlines and support services more limited and children in those countries at greater risk.
Today, though, my thoughts are with Sir Keir Starmer and his family. I also think that his decision today says as much about all of us as it does about him and his leadership.

There has been a major increase in child sexual abuse videos made with AI.
Exclusive data shared with Channel 4 News shows that 1,300 videos have been found globally so far in 2025 - compared to only 2 in the same time last year.

Today, we unveil the sobering reality of the challenges facing UK charities in the latest update of our #CharityResilienceIndex.
The findings are stark: Charities are stretched to their limits, with many forced to make impossible decisions.
