Would you give equity in your company to the right influencer?
That’s what @JT_Bass, CEO & Co-founder of @HopWtr, does with some macro influencers supporting their brand:
→ Dustin Poirier
→ Kaisa Keranen
→ Cam Duddy
→ Bryce Wong
→ Koa Smith
Their belief: HOP WTR wants influencers to be a part of the brand, love it organically, and embody everything the company stands for. When an influencer shows that level of ownership commitment, it’s fair to compensate them as such.
This is an interesting angle on macro influencer marketing, and as brands find their ideal influencer fits, I can see equity compensation growing in popularity. It feels like the inverse to influencer-founded brands — HOP WTR is an influencer-led brand with strong trust in their macro personalities, and it seems to working well for them.
Jordan, Taylor, and I talk more about @HopWtr, influencer strategy, and more in our newest podcast — I’ll drop the full episode in the comments.

Don’t mistake completion for progress. Crossing tasks off a to-do list creates an illusion of momentum.
We often favor trivial tasks we can finish now over worthwhile tasks that take longer.
The projects that matter most should take priority over those that are closest to done.

There are domains where the knowledge of "what works" is mostly stacked on top of itself in a fairly linear way: physics, architecture, medicine...
But entrepreneurship is different. A strategy that worked reliably for decades, might never work again, or the exact opposite might work. Something that was tried and failed dozens of times might work this time.
It's true there are some principles that *tend* to stay the same, but entrepreneurs should be ready and willing to question *everything*
That's what makes it so interesting.
